A variety of Heinz products are seen at a convenience store in Golden, Colorado February 28, 2006. H.J. Heinz Co. on Tuesday posted a 23 percent drop in net profit, and fell short of Wall Street estimates, as its tax rate rose and the stronger dollar cut into the value of overseas sales. Does this mean that Jaques and Teeeereeezaaa Querri are going to have to hold off on buying another mansion or jet?
I KNEW if I bought 2 cases of "W" ketchup I'd bring 'em to their knees!
Good. I don't by Heinz anymore. For those of you in the Midwest, Braums Ketchup is fantastic.
Great news, the political hack skeery will not be able to afford those $600 pompador haircuts that makes his head look like a horse with a ageing cupie doll wig...
Never underestimate the power of the "little guy"
I stopped buying Heinz too.
john kerrie walk into a bar ...
Bartender :" Hey, I think I know why the long face !"
Does this mean the federal government will have to bail out JOhn KErry's wife?
Frankly I don't see anything to cheer about. American company (of which Terezzzazza owns a mini amount of) is having a hard time keeping its head above water. I don't see what the fun is about.
For the life of me, I can't find it. But some perceptive FReeper posted an article that shows explicitly that Commie boy and his wife no longer own any part of Heinz and that Heinz supports Republicans and the PResident's reelection.
This is far from good news. Heinz is a good company with a great product.
Well, some people cheer that American businesses go down the drain. Lucky you are one! Smirk! Some Freeper are clueless that money and the stockmarket makes the USA go round.
I just looked it up - nobody named Heinz or foundation owns notable Heinz stock.
Somebody found curly hairs in the bottom of their ketchup.
Bunny, get a grip, you don't know me, you don't know my sense of humor and you do not know what is in my stock portfolio
We have a stronger dollar? Who knew?
You forgot the smiley. I don't like to see American business and jobs go down the drain. All I know is you felt compelled to say you were overjoyed.
Dubbya Ketchup took a big bite out Jacques Kerry arse...
Who does, Bunny Slippers, who does? By the Way did you Know that Heinz makes ketchup in Canada and other places around the globe?
Much like the port deal, people attack with little information. TH and JK have nothing to do with the operation of the company. Nothing nana zilch. Celebrating the fact that they are losing money is mystifying.
"Teresa Heinz Kerry does not "own the Heinz Corporation" she has no involvement whatsoever with the management or operations of the H.J. Heinz Company, nor does she own anything close to a controlling interest of the company's stock. According to Heinz itself, the Heinz family trust which Mrs. Kerry inherited sold most of its shares of Heinz stock back in 1995 and currently holds less than a 4% interest in the company"
Also, H. John Heinz III T's husband before kerry was a solid repub.
What's to celebrate?
Heinz need to change their name for a while to something like: "Heinz doesn't support JF'nKerry".
Who does? You said you did. And, yes, check my bio.
Well, check # 26.
Anything that guts the bloated finances of demonrats is something to cheer about. Other ketchup and pickle companies will be more than happy to take up the slack. I have boycotted hienz from then to the end of my life.
This misconception has been around since the 04 elections. I didn't bring up the obvious issue because I don't want to ignite a flame war. But yes, this is exactly like the ports non-issue.
In Indiana we have our own home grown ketchup and tomato products, "Red Gold"!
See # 26
The ports wouldn't have been a big deal if we believed that Bush was at all strong on securing the borders.
I can't imagine anyone that wants gravy would want something in a jar. Gravy should be made out of what didn't make it to the meat platter.
You aren't "hurting" Terry and Kerry, but not buying Heinz products, the fact that Heinz is doing poorly, now, doesn't do a thing to Terry&Kerry!
Teresa Heinz is the life estate beneficiary or outright beneficiary of her husband's trusts, making her either extremely wealthy in her own name, or powerful as a trustee of Heinz family wealth. Sen. Kerry is wealthy in his own right, though not to the same degree, since he became a trust fund beneficiary of his mother's and Forbes family trusts. Sen. Kerry and Teresa Heinz signed a prenuptial agreement and have kept their premarital assets separate.
To date, Teresa Heinz has declined to disclose her personal tax returns, citing family trusts and privacy. She is estimated to be worth between $750 million and $1.2 billion. According to her most recently released income tax of 2003, the Kerry and Heinz paid an effective federal income tax rate of 12%. Most of her income was derived from tax free municipal bonds, which explains the low rate.
Looks like some of that Heinz profit went to Teresa
No, actually it didn't.
The knees are JERKING on FR, yet again. :-(
OOOOOOHHHHH! The HORROR! Kill the company and their jobs!
As per usual. With much backslapping.
Glad to hear the remarks of a reasoned person.
Heinz has a plant in a city about 40 miles south of us. They employ hundreds of people and run 24/7. Just as important, probably hundreds of thousands of farmers produce the crops that go into their final product.
Bunny....why is it that folks who handle other peoples money , say traders, or bankers, thank they have a smug condescending attitude to others...even before they know who they are, or what they own. Just handling other peoples money does not make you superior..chill out and get a sense of humor.
BTW...you should really boycott BOAR'SHEAD.
