"I'm reminded of the old Roman maxim, "Vin Veneto Veritas" -- "with wine comes truth" (not literal truth, but what the inebriate really thinks when his tongue is loosened)."
The same holds true of folks who use the protective distance and anonymity of their computers to speak their "minds" about others. Personally, I don't know what Mel Gibson said when he was drunk, nor do I care. I know what he stands for in his life, and the faith and works of his life speak for themselves. When you find somebody who doesn't have a flaw or who doesn't sin, you've either found God or the person whom you think you are.
The guy was only a .12 % BA?
What a light weight, the homicide dicks I worked with started their day higher than that ;^)

He apparently despises Jews.
Perhaps you admire people like that.

He's had a drinking problem his whole life. He's also an avout Catholic who apparently hates Jews.

I agree with you. I am frequently amazed at the quickness with which judgement is passed on this forum, particularly against those who have been a desperately needed conservative voice against the liberal insanity that our country, and much of the world, is swimming in... Rush, Ann Coulter, Trent Lott, etc. ad nauseum
. I can't imagine what life must be like having never made mistakes or bad judgements. And all these years, I believed that Jesus was the only perfect man. < /sarcasm >
And when did it become a conservative value to apologize for every word out of our mouths that doesn't agree with the PC status quo? There are a tremendous number of "conservatives" that only give lip service in support of freedom of speech, but are quick to jump on the condemnation bandwagon when someone utters a word counter to that which they personally approve of.
