Here we go again. Rudy is NOT a conservative by standards established in the recent past. He is pro-abortion, pro-partial birth abortion, pro-gun control, pro amnesty for illegal border invaders, pro-stem cell research with infants,
and pro-homosexual agenda. Please do not call him a conservative in this forum.
ping !!!!
But ... but ... you have to be willing to compromise! It doesn't matter if what you're compromising comprises the core of the ideology. As long as you get someone elected who has an "R" behind his name. He could be Chuck Hagel. Or John McCain. Heck, he could be Hillary Clinton if she'd change her party affiliation.
The only thing that's important about Rudy Giuiliani isn't any of those pesky "principles." It's the fact that he is a Republican.
Be that as it may, you're still going to have to vote for him if he ends up the nominee.
AMEN
Rudy will not get my vote....in fact I may not vote at all for president....if the choice is Hillary or Rudy.
The same goes for McCain.....
Feb. 5, 2008, may become Super-Duper Tuesday with, perhaps, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Utah voting on the same day..
Think about that. That means the nominee won't just be able to go to IA and NH shake some hands and come from nowhere.
They will need an entire national ground game and close to 100 million to buy radio and TV ads within a year.
They have to make the ads ....hire thousands of people..pollsters...consultants...the logistacs in this time constrant are staggering.
There are 5-6 people in the country who can pull that off. Rudy,Romney,McCaine, Hillary and maybe Obama, Colin Powell,Edwards.
The rest of the pack is already toast.
He's a conservative.
Has Mr. Robinson appointed you hall monitor?
Please stop being such an arrogant jerk that you presume to tell people how they must define things.
What constitutes a conservative? As in education and so many other areas of our society, I see the bar being lowered in regards to this definition. Very disheartening.
I think Rudy's a conservative and I think I'll use this forum to say so! There, I've done it!
He manages to come down on the wrong side of a number of important litmus test issues. For me, it's 2A.
