The military should be polled on that.

I'm sure your right but imagine the outrage at such a poll by the left!

I hope and pray it never comes to pass. Suffice it to say that anyone of you who firmly believes that no military unit would fire on American civilians, I can dispel that belief with one place name: Kent State. Regardless of your political leanings at the time, regardless of the "why" of it, the basic fact remains that a commanding officer gave the order to "fire!" and his National Guardsmen followed that order. Who was right and who was wrong remains irrelevant. It happened, and given the right circumstances it will happen again.

The Churchill quote was along the lines of if we don’t take care of something while we can while it’s still small, we may have to fight in vain and die against something we don’t have a chance of winning against. WHich scenario is the better one?

"the soldiers will stand with the citizen."

That may be true for some but not for all there is plenty of mind control and indoctrination that goes on in the military that is rarely spoken of out side of the military.

Maybe but all of mind says the Constitution must be protected from all enemies foreign and domestic and right now domestic smells a lot like Soros and his gangs of thieves.

Back in January I wrote that I expected the Baraqqis to do a Branch Davidian or Elian Gonzalez early in their term. Especially with Holder being a protege of Janet Reno.

Something to show massive federal police power vs citizens.

So far it hasn’t happened.
I’m surprised......but it’s still early.

My guess is the cops, at least a large majority, from big cities and urban areas will turn into Nazis when told to do so. They did so in New Orleans.

Now the rural deputies and small town cops might be a different bunch. I hope so.

The army issues and uses a large number of handguns. Issue settled. Handguns are not the best weapons for offense therefore citizens should all be armed with the best rifles and shotguns they can afford.

I recall a magazine article about my late wife’s ancestors in Texas. It told of one sharp fight with commanhes and several brushes with them. When they headed into Indian territory the army gave them several Spencer rifles and a pile of ammo. All for free. What a change from now where we are destroying all surplus guns as fast as possible. This under Bush and Obama.

I don't think it's fair to say that the Wolverines lost when you look at how many communists they killed as compared to how many of them lost their lives in the fight.

Besides, there were only 9 of them when you count Powers Booth.

They must have neutralized several hundred communists before the film was finally over.

Every single school year I have this discussion with my students. This school year begins in two weeks and I guess this trend will continue. I have to show them the history of the Afghans and their struggle against the USSR. Those mountain boys took arguably the biggest army in the world at the time and whupped 'em with what were essentially muzzle loaders and captured AK47s. Yes our STINGERS helped but only at the end.

Then I have to tell them about the tried and true doctrine of TRADE UP. Of course it works like this: #1 If I have a 22 I can GET an M4. #2 If I have an M4 I can GET an M249 SAW. I can take this trade up as far as I want. Name it: Tanks, mortars, whatever. Don't need to start with an arsenal. Of course starting with the right gear does short the process quite a bit. Thus if I start with my Springfield Armory M1A Super-match and my 3x10 range finding Shepherd Scope I can pretty much get what I want if others do the leg work while I launch rounds.

I spent a lot of time as an infantry officer but then I did a rare branch transfer into Armor in the reserves and attended the Armor Officers Advanced Course. I found out quite a few things about those tanks that are pretty much universal: Most of all, tanks HATE wire. Especially staked down barbed type wire. It gets wrapped around the wheels and entwined in the tracks. 'Round and 'round and 'round. Until the tank is immobilized. What is known as a mobility "kill." Of course none of the tanks weapons systems are affected by the wire so it essentially becomes a fixed fortification. But the crew have go to pop their heads out eventually to take care of business. That wire can usually only be released by using a cutting torch so that tank really ain't goin' anywhere. Q: What does the American countryside have in surplus quantities? A: Lots and lots of BARBED WIRE.

Well, what about those nasty CHOPPERS? Comes the question spinning from the back of the class. I tell them that in certain areas of the country, namely those heavily forested, they can be just as vulnerable to wire as well. Cable not barbed wire. All kinds of uses for cable. Especially in tight LZs or urban LZs or corridors of flight when NOE (nap of the earth) rules are in effect. All kinds of stuff when you think outside the box. That's what I try to instill in my students: Critical Thinking.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.

There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves. "

Remember the young female soldier that was taken captive early in the Iraq war? She couldn’t remember how to operate her M-16 rifle during the firefight.

As I understand it, Jessica Lynch and her team failed to properly maintain their weapons before the incident. Their weapons jammed and were useless.

Still is an AliceInWonderland piece. With popgun .45s the best one can expect is the creation of a lingering irritant. Since Bill was around, ranges of weapons have dramatically increased, as has sniper range - they can get you from 1.5 miles away.

To be effective such a rebellion would have to incorporate the entire active military - some would remain loyal to the State, others no so much.

Of course, the Marxist-Maoists know this as well. So when you see the push for unilateral disarmament (disbanding the existing military) and the push for the creation of a force guaranteed to remain loyal - the Civilian National Security Force - begin at once or any rebellion is toastados.

It is called script - gov prints and promises to redeem after victory.

Real estate - after the action, the slaves will restore whatever as needed.

People work if they want to eat during the action, else the lime pits will see some visitors.

The current military will not use their weapons (not toys - do not minimize this!) on US citizens, but the Civilian National Security Force, which will replace the current mil, will have no such scruples.

Yea, I know how it works in other countries and theatres of action.

And after seeing how the whole California IOU thing worked out for them.... without anything other than a shortage of actual money... I’m pretty certain that folks ain’t going along with the idea.

The California IOU issuance was a very interesting test run for all sorts of government nonsense. The government failed.

There are tens of millions of high-powered hunting rifles, at minimum, in the hands of citizens, as well as many AR-15s, AK-47s, SKS, M-1s and similar weapons. Even a rimfire weapon is useful in many situations, and those are everywhere.

What kind of class do you teach?

I teach mostly combined semester classes so it sounds like a lot, but it's not.

#1 Advanced Placement American Government and Honors Economics

#2 Standard American Government and standard Economics.

#3 Psychology and Sociology

That's what I've been doing for the last 5 years at this school. This year will be my 20th as a teacher. In the past I have taught: American History, World History, Global Studies, Law Studies, Geography, Criminal Justice and History of the Vietnam War. Pretty much everything available in the social studies curriculum except for specific classes pertaining to black history. Being white TPTB (The Powers That Be) say I'm not really qualified to teach that to inner city kids not having had the "Black Experience." Can't argue with that and it's a relief since I have absolutely no desire to teach those subjects.

And I believe it. I'm doing my part.

Progressives never learn from history because they always regard their ideas as completely new. We had a disastrous Prohibition, a notoriously unsuccessful War on Drugs, and what we get from the gun banners is a complete memory wipe and a determination to repeat old follies. Stupidity and stubborness are a tough combination to face, especially when part of the stupidity is the earnest conviction that the stupid are really smart.

Hellfire missiles are very useful against insurgents. Besides, all they need to do is take out identified leaders to sow F.U.D. One “accidental” tactical nuclear discharge can be very effective.

Then there is the whole communications bit.

Just saying... it ain't as easy these days as one might imagine.

Well, you're probably right, but I don't think either movie, Red Dawn or The Patriot, needs to be re-made. The only reason they're doing Red Dawn over is they can't come up with any new ideas, and when they do it's garbage like what Will Ferrell and Sacha Baren Cohen constantly puke out.

But forget the psychological and political for a moment, and consider just the numbers. To paraphrase the Senator, "A million pistols here, a million rifles there, pretty soon you're talking serious firepower." No one, repeat, no one, will conquer America, from within or without, until its citizenry are disarmed.

Excellent read.
