...the number of privately-held firearms in the United States at 200 million.

There's reason to believe that number is closer to 350 million.

Joe, thanks - one of the more entertaining treatments of the subject I’ve seen.

Still is an AliceInWonderland piece. With popgun .45s the best one can expect is the creation of a lingering irritant. Since Bill was around, ranges of weapons have dramatically increased, as has sniper range - they can get you from 1.5 miles away.

To be effective such a rebellion would have to incorporate the entire active military - some would remain loyal to the State, others no so much.

Of course, the Marxist-Maoists know this as well. So when you see the push for unilateral disarmament (disbanding the existing military) and the push for the creation of a force guaranteed to remain loyal - the Civilian National Security Force - begin at once or any rebellion is toastados.

It is called script - gov prints and promises to redeem after victory.

Real estate - after the action, the slaves will restore whatever as needed.

People work if they want to eat during the action, else the lime pits will see some visitors.

The current military will not use their weapons (not toys - do not minimize this!) on US citizens, but the Civilian National Security Force, which will replace the current mil, will have no such scruples.

"As I understand it, Jessica Lynch and her team failed to properly maintain their weapons before the incident. Their weapons jammed and were useless."

That's even worse than forgetting how to operate your weapon. Where did they think they were, at Disneyworld?!

Yea, I know how it works in other countries and theatres of action.

And after seeing how the whole California IOU thing worked out for them.... without anything other than a shortage of actual money... I’m pretty certain that folks ain’t going along with the idea.

The California IOU issuance was a very interesting test run for all sorts of government nonsense. The government failed.

There are tens of millions of high-powered hunting rifles, at minimum, in the hands of citizens, as well as many AR-15s, AK-47s, SKS, M-1s and similar weapons. Even a rimfire weapon is useful in many situations, and those are everywhere.

What kind of class do you teach?

I teach mostly combined semester classes so it sounds like a lot, but it's not.

#1 Advanced Placement American Government and Honors Economics

#2 Standard American Government and standard Economics.

#3 Psychology and Sociology

That's what I've been doing for the last 5 years at this school. This year will be my 20th as a teacher. In the past I have taught: American History, World History, Global Studies, Law Studies, Geography, Criminal Justice and History of the Vietnam War. Pretty much everything available in the social studies curriculum except for specific classes pertaining to black history. Being white TPTB (The Powers That Be) say I'm not really qualified to teach that to inner city kids not having had the "Black Experience." Can't argue with that and it's a relief since I have absolutely no desire to teach those subjects.

There's reason to believe that number is closer to 350 million.

And I believe it. I'm doing my part.

Progressives never learn from history because they always regard their ideas as completely new. We had a disastrous Prohibition, a notoriously unsuccessful War on Drugs, and what we get from the gun banners is a complete memory wipe and a determination to repeat old follies. Stupidity and stubborness are a tough combination to face, especially when part of the stupidity is the earnest conviction that the stupid are really smart.

Hellfire missiles are very useful against insurgents. Besides, all they need to do is take out identified leaders to sow F.U.D. One “accidental” tactical nuclear discharge can be very effective.

Then there is the whole communications bit.

Just saying... it ain't as easy these days as one might imagine.

Well, you're probably right, but I don't think either movie, Red Dawn or The Patriot, needs to be re-made. The only reason they're doing Red Dawn over is they can't come up with any new ideas, and when they do it's garbage like what Will Ferrell and Sacha Baren Cohen constantly puke out.

But forget the psychological and political for a moment, and consider just the numbers. To paraphrase the Senator, "A million pistols here, a million rifles there, pretty soon you're talking serious firepower." No one, repeat, no one, will conquer America, from within or without, until its citizenry are disarmed.

Excellent read.
