Letter: Choosing not to drink the tea (Another Doozy)
The Towerlight: Towson's Campus and Community News Source ^ | September 12, 2010 | James A. Hoage

At the Beck-Palin Aug. 28 D.C. Mall rally (of mostly Tea Partiers), one of the T-shirts read “Take back our country.” From whom? To what? Is TBOC the new name for the Tea Party? A new name is needed since the NAACP accused Tea Partiers of racism. But new name or no, the group remains an unholy alliance of bigots, rich people, big corporation and the Grand Old Party.

The bigots can’t abide the social progress America has made this last half century: the liberation of African-Americans, women, gays, Hispanics and others. Glenn Beck has decided the civil rights movement is no longer about African-Americans, it’s now about “protecting anti-tax conservatives from liberals.” (The rich will lose their Bush tax cuts Dec. 31). So the rich fervently oppose spending desperately needed by the middle class and poor – especially those put out of work by the Bush-Cheney depression.

Less aid justifies continuing their Bush tax cuts. But why not target military waste and corporate welfare instead? Big corporations are scared. They sense rising public anger over the horrific behavior of Enron, Goldman Sachs, Massey and BP; over corporate resistance to re-regulation; and over the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision that lets big firms buy our elections.

Republican operatives aid and abet Tea Party events – which are more planned than spontaneous, more AstroTurf than grassroots. We know that 69 – 78 percent of TP’ers are well off, right-wing, GOP, non-Hispanic whites. The Tea Party lets them rant without seeming partisan. Some of the rant is astonishing.

A recent Harris poll finds that 1 in 4 Republican/Tea Partiers believe that President Obama is the anti-Christ foretold in the Book of Revelation. As the Tea Partiers, or perhaps TBOC’s, were leaving the Beck-Palin rally, some African-Americans on the sidelines chanted: “Don’t drink the tea. Don’t drink the tea.” Maybe DDTT should be the response group to TBOC.

What's up with Maryland? Funny that he didn't mention that 1 in 4 Americans believe that Mr. Obama is a Muslim...

Concluded it wasn’t worth my time to register to post on their site. Besides, it would be hard to know what to correct first . . the whole article is a pack of paranoid lies.

Another bigoted, left-wing, liberal, ignoramus who fights imagined bigotry by spouting bigotry about people he doesn’t agree with by calling them bigots.

Interesting. The author of this whiny screed (James A Hogue) lives in/near Towson/Severna Park, Maryland, both of which are close to Baltimore.

Found this news article from 1992 concerning a James A Hogue as written in the Baltimore papers

A Man Who Fabricated his academic record and swindled... March 09, 1992

A MAN WHO fabricated his academic record and swindled Princeton University out of a $22,000 scholarship pleaded guilty to theft by deception and could spend up to nine months in prison.

Then again, he may not. New Jersey prosecutors, who were irate about the swindle, dropped charges of forgery and falsifying records against James A. Hogue, 32, under a plea bargain.

Excerpt. Rest of story

Hi! I’m an immature mutant ‘student’ from Towson. Sure you’ve never heard of it because it’s just a small turd college in a sea of large turd colleges. None of us have ever had a real job (just pretend jobs like me writing this puke) or payed taxes, raised a family, or defended the country, but we like to tell you racist bigots where to go.
