Our Constitution is in Danger
The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal ^ | September 18, 2010 | Donald R. May

On September 17, 1787, The Constitution of the United States was signed.

Our Constitution has endured challenges and dangers over the past 223 years but none so ominous as now during the Administration of Barack Obama.

“We the People” are the words that begin the Constitution of the United States. It was the intent of the framers of our Constitution that the power in the United States of America came from the citizens and was on loan to those public officials whom they elected and appointed.

Our Founding Fathers established the United States of America and its Constitution on a solid foundation of religious principles with very limited Federal powers Thomas Jefferson outlined the foundations of the American Dream, “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

Jefferson was confident that should the government ever get out of line, the people would quickly restore it to its foundations, “Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government; whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied upon to set them to rights.”

We are now in harm’s way. The dangers we face as a nation are from those who hate our successes and our strengths and from those who want to control us. The Liberal Elite are in control of our Federal government. Radical Islamic Terrorists are waiting to deliver another deadly blow to us. Communist enemies old and new are rattling their sabers.

Our Constitution has been under attack for a long time. It appears President Barack Obama may now be its strongest opponent.

The differing views of our Constitution during the 20th Century are clearly shown by the comments of Presidents Wilson, Reagan, and Clinton. President Woodrow Wilson said,

“The American Constitution is little more than ‘political witchcraft’ from the past, and ought to be discarded so that we can get on with the Progressive project of building a ‘national state.’”

Like Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Barack Obama does not accept the Founding Father’s intention of a very limited government. Wilson openly expressed his disdain for our Constitution, for We the People, and for Liberty, “More than anyone, Woodrow Wilson advanced the new Progressive theory of human nature and human institutions and the corresponding Progressive critique of the principles of the American Founding and the Founders' Constitution. Wilson, who was President of Princeton University and of the American Political Science Association before becoming President of the United States, was the first American national chief executive to openly criticize the U.S. Constitution, once comparing it to ‘political witchcraft.’ So hostile was he to the self evident truths of the Founding that, in a 1911 address, he remarked, ‘if you want to understand the real Declaration of Independence, do not repeat the preface.’”

Wilson, above all others, deserves credit for the notion that the Constitution is a ‘living’ or ‘evolving’ document. As he wrote in 1908: ‘Government is not a machine, but a living thing. It falls, not under the theory of the universe, but under the theory of organic life. It is accountable to Darwin.’"

President Ronald Reagan understood the intent of our original Constitution. He concisely let it be known,

“Our Constitution is a document that protects the people from government.”

President Clinton was of the opinion that the Constitutional rights of We the People got in the way of his plans to rule,

"If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government's ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees."

President Barack Obama has a Radical Far Left political ideology. Obama appears to be intent on quickly transforming the United States from a representative Republic into a Socialist democracy and beyond. Like Presidents Wilson and Clinton, Obama has a distinct distaste for our Constitution because it inhibits his desire for a rapid transition of the very foundations of our government.

Barack Obama said during a 2001 Chicago Public Radio interview, “ . . . the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution.”

“ . . . generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.”

Our Constitution protects us from Barack Obama and his fellow Progressive Socialists. Obama does not like that.

We the People are at a fork in the road. One path leads to our increased slavery under the boot of an oppressive government that promises equality of outcome to everyone. Under such a Fascist government, everyone other than the ruling Elite would be equally miserable.

The other path returns us to our original Constitution and to Liberty. It returns us to a limited Federal government and to the opportunities of America’s founding. It gives us the freedom to work hard and to take great risks without the oppressive boot of government on our necks. It returns us to the American Dream. It allows us to return God to the public square, to politics, and to the very heart of our government. We must choose Liberty!

This is again a time for great courage. We the People must have the courage to kick the Progressive Left out of power on 02 November and then drastically reduce the size of our government. If we do not, or if we fail, we shall surely become the vassals and slaves of unkind tyrants.

Our constitution is in zero danger.

Our peace is in danger.

Marxists have never beaten United States freedom defenders on the field of battle.

If there were ever an enemy of prosperity and opportunity for the middle class, it is the Marxist Barack Hussein Obama.

He is a menace to our nation and damn near everyone living here.

Obama bamboozled millions... gave them the old 'okee doke.' What a moron. He can have as extreme a views as he wants. But he can't transfer them and remake America with them.

Time to end the experiment brought on by the piss-steam media and the Bush derangement crowd.

Common to your other posts—well done. That being said I am
reminded of an old movie line-one spoken by Micky Rooney
when he played a shot up soldier who wanted his buddies to make it to the evac point. so when the poorly portrayed German soldiers arrive Rooney says “Guess what we’re having for dinner ?— Mashed potatoes.” Bout that time I reckon.

“Our constitution is in zero danger.

If only it were that simple, the Marxists know they cannot beat us on the open battlefield, Not yet anyway.

They will not try to just as they have not tried to(except for the USSR), they work to destroy our people from within, the same way most all great republic fell.

This conquest starts with the destruction of our peoples principles. To that end they have infiltrated our public schools and private collages to teach their lies to our helpless young, while not teaching the essential truths of our founding.

As Samuel Adams said:

“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.” - Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779

This is just one of the reasons why more then anything else we NEED control of the State governments. Congress matters not, the president matters not if we cannot wrest control of the education of our children(and grandchildren) from theses Marxist we have already lost this war.

This is where our enemies started; education of our children. We allowed marxist thought to be taught in our schools and culture. “Captain Planet” has done more harm to our nation in it’s moral character than any foreign army to our borders by a factor of a thousand.

Good advice. I’d also add that patriots need to take back control of local government, too. By controlling local government, patriots can start 1,000 political brush fires that will exhaust federal manpower and resources. As the federal fascists extinguish one fire, 10 more can start down the road.

Beautifully put!

Unfortunately McCarthy, Goldwater, and Bitch were correct. The enemy within has been chipping away for a very long time.

Here's another interesting read. Deception was my job.

” All politics is local.”
- Tip O'Neil Also, when you hear that the Constitution is out dated and needs to reflect our curent times. Remember that the Constitution was itself based on republican themes which were over 2000 years old. Apparenly the Founders did not feel those themes were out dated.

Governments are about dealing with human nature. As human nature does not change over time nether does government.

The necessity of virtue among the electorate of a representative republic is lost on most people.

For your quote quiver here's Aristotle from his Politics

"A city can be virtuous only when the citizens who have a share in the government are virtuous, and in our state all the citizens share in the government;"
