Is Donald Trump running for president? Would the King of the Boardroom trade in the crown from his business empire to accept the daunting task as Commander in Chief of the Oval Office? Speculations run high as the political arena ramps up for nomination bids and busts. A few weeks ago, Trump announced his plans to run for president (perhaps in an off the cuff manner) on his reality series, Donald J. Trumps Fabulous World of Gold which airs Monday night 9ET on the Golf Channel.
According to a story covered this morning in the Des Moines Register (and picked up by correspondents for CNN and NBC), Trump for President could very well become a bumper sticker slogan in this presidential race which could become one of the largest laughing stock competitions since not sure, this could be a first! Is it really so far-stretched of a consideration though? A review of some of the historical (and not so qualified) entrants who won: Jimmy Carter peanut farmer from Georgia, high school graduate Harry S. Truman, actor Ronald Reagan, tailor Andrew Johnson, newspaper publisher Warren Harding, mining engineer and consultant, and Theodore Roosevelt, jack of many trades except lawyer.
The article in the Des Moines Register states that Iowa GOP Chairman, Matt Strawn, has announced that Donald Trump will be the headliner for the Iowa Republican Party Lincoln Dinner on June 10, 2011 in Des Moines. The Iowa caucuses traditionally are the kickoff of the presidential primary season and this speaker engagement is seen as another positive indication Trump is, indeed, seriously considering a bid for presidency. Trump is reported to be scheduled to speak in New Hampshire in June as well at the political event, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics Politics and Eggs forum (a longtime MUST for presidential hopefuls), in the state where the first primary is held the New Hampshire primary is one of the leading predictors in presidential races. Strawn admits the invitation of Trump is to introduce him to Iowa Republicans and help the party gain more attention and funding from activists, donors, and supporters. A senior advisor to Trump, Michael Cohen, reportedly flew to Iowa earlier this month to meet with Strawn about the engagement.
Will the United States be Trumped in the future? Why not? Its not like the choices out there have been too fabulous since the presidency of Bill Clinton! Do we seriously want to consider Sarah Palin as she makes her bid for the first female President of the United States? Wasnt her reality television series, Sarah Palins Alaska, enough to confirm her complete lack of cerebral engagement?

Trump is firing on all cylinders lately. He is also getting tons of postive vibes on generic sites like yahoo aol rcp etc. If he can beat zero I will support him 100 percent.
If he wins, he will be living in the White House, so he can let Ghaddafy camp out on his lawn again.
I wonder if any of this is helping the ratings for his “Celebrity Apprentice” TV show?
I like Trump better than who seems to be positioning themselves for a presidential run. (Palin and Bachmann not withstanding)
Given the choice:
Pawlenty or Trump
Guliani or Trump
Romney or Trump
I like Palin and Bachmann. I’m not sure that these two ladies have the stamina to endure the absolutely the most vile assaults on them, their families and anyone who has ever had contact with them.
The communists play for keeps and I would expect more than a few gunshots to be aimed at them.
Mega-ego on the march. He hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but if he wants to piss his money away it wouldn't be the first time a fool and his money were parted.
Is he still married to that dark-haired woman? If he is, the US would definitely have the hottest First Lady in the world.
I have hated on Trump ever since he stole Herschel Walker from us in his senior season to go play for the N.J. Generals. We would have won another N.C. with Herschel back for his senior season in 1983. Go Dawgs!! and to Hell with Ga. Tech!
I’d vote for him, he’s probably the only one with enough money & clout to OUT Bambi and he knows how to fix this country!
I agree. I’ll vote for the Don.
I agree. I’ll vote for the Don.
I’d vote for him. He is a smart savy business man and that is what we need.
Trump:
"Im a conservative on most issues but a liberal on health. It is an unacceptable but accurate fact that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 42 million. Working out detailed plans will take time. But the goal should be clear: Our people are our greatest asset. We must take care of our own. We must have universal healthcare. Our objective [should be] to make reforms for the moment and, longer term, to find an equivalent of the single-payer plan that is affordable, well-administered, and provides freedom of choice. Possible? The good news is, yes. There is already a system in place-the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program-that can act as a guide for all healthcare reform. It operates through a centralized agency that offers considerable range of choice. While this is a government program, it is also very much market-based. It allows 620 private insurance companies to compete for this market. Once a year participants can choose from plans which vary in benefits and costs." Source: ( Jul 2, 2000)
Maybe he'll flip.
Really, it won't take you more than a minute to read the quotes at the link I provided. If you're not a reader there's a video of the interview at the Human Events' website. It runs about 30 minutes and is broken up into 5-minute segments if you are pressed for time.
How does Trump’s multiple bankruptcies prove he is a good fiscal manager? The LSM & the 2012 contenders are stockpiling a treasure trove of dirt from his business dealings and personal/love life messes as we type. He didn’t get where he is by being Mr. Nice Guy.
Trump talks a big game but let’s see how he holds up when his records are brought to light. Politics is a rough sport.
