When I was 17, if I was offered THAT I would have taken it in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t have been traumatized or harmed in any way, either.
Then, looking back as an old man, I would realize it wasn’t the right thing to do (She is married).
But when a boy is 17, his hormones rule and cloud judgement.
And yes, it IS different than if it were a male teacher and a female 17 year old.
I vote not too bright, not too moral, but not guilty.

Yes, she would find somebody willing to sleep with her, but not somebody who would worship her as a goddess the way a horny 17 year old would.
This has been extensively covered in the Louisville press. I’m about 2 degrees removed from this: I know people who know people who know her.
The whole thing is tragic. She evidently was a good teacher, this episode notwithstanding. She is prevented from teaching for three years (of course no one will ever hire her again) and her family is going through hell.
When I saw the photo I thought she looked moonbat crazy, and maybe she is, but when I saw the video of the court proceedings she just looked scared and about ready to burst out into tears at any moment.
Not only not guilty but also above suspicion!

Don’t know the laws of the state, but there are laws against teachers having sex with students. This has come about because there are so very many of these cases now, the law has gotten involved.
It is wrong on every level and in every way that someone in a personal fiduciary situation - public trust to do what is best for those in their charge and not to selfishly pursue personal interests by using those entrusted to them - therefore, since this public trust is constantly violated these days, laws have been applied.
Now to the sexist view of things...if the student were a 17 year old girl, if she were your daughter, and the teacher were male or female, no matter, how would it look to you then.....
If the above isn’t blunt enough, let me be blunt. It isn’t that the 17 year old boy is seen as a child. That isn’t it at all. It is that it’s a teacher and student and as stated above, that is now being dealt with legally because of a crying need...

Every time this happens there is a mad rush of the moral that these women should be strung up. That said, our laws are our laws and so guilty she is.
But if we look back a mere 50-100 years, women were married with kids at 15-16.
