PROMISE! My Last Palin Post Ever (Says if Erik Erickson is over you, you're done! LOL)
The Manteca Bulletin ^ | September 30, 2011 | Anthony Cheeks

Posted on 09/30/2011 8:17:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

It seems that activity in these blogs and in the letters forums certainly picked up when discussing the fortunes of the former governor of Alaska. We leftists were spared no amount of scorn and ridicule due to our criticism of Sarah Palin. Of course it was never made to clear how our criticism of Palin is any different from the vitriol directed towards Nancy Pelosi or Barbara Boxer in these same forums, but that is another topic.

I am writing this post, because today just might mark a key turning point in the political fortunes of Sarah Palin. It would seem that we folks on the left are no longer the only ones who are starting to grow a tad weary of her.

Redstate.com is a conservative, even borderline hard-core right wing web site. The proprietor is a man named Erick Erickson who today expressed his own frustration with Palin's ongoing will-she or won't-she run saga that makes Hamlet look downright decisive. But the point is that he did not do it with straight-ahead political commentary, he used the kind of mocking ridicule he usually reserves for liberals.

When the head honcho of a leading conservative website is openly mocking you, perhaps your 4 years and 15 minutes of fame is almost over? Anyway, that's my last word on the former governor. If right wing websites are making fun of her, there is nothing else for us leftists to say, except that once again Mark Twain was proven right when he said, "it is the radical who creates the ideas, then when those ideas are worn out, the conservative adopts them".

So to all of you die hard Palin fans out there, it is no longer just us leftists for whom Palin is more annoying than anything else. Take a look and see what at least one fellow conservative has to say about Palin. Also note how he refers to her supporters as a "cult".

We leftists should now just shut up about Palin. Conservatives have adopted yet another one of our ideas. I know I am breaking my own rule about citing opinion blogs as sources. But when my point is that a specific opinion is no longer exclusive to the left, it somehow seems appropriate.

BREAKING NEWS: PALIN SUPPORTERS CLAIM SHE NEVER SAID IT OR MEANT IT OR SOMETHING

There is movement within the cult. They are mad as hell at us for pointing out Governor Palin set this as her own drop dead date.

Red State proclaimed to be a leading conservative forum, most read inside the beltway or some such shit...

Middle Earth and the “hobbits” are ready to revolt against the status quo!

Hang on for the ride “Red State”; let’s see how you spin this, mainstream prognosticators, you!

Ans she is probably/perhaps/maybe within 15 days of announcing her run for the WH, so they are all going to look pretty foolish.

They are going to look foolish, because it`s not a matter of if she runs but when she runs, certainly within 30 days.

I like the idea of the 7th in front of 15,000 at Liberty U

Fascinating how almost every single response here is an ad hominem attack on Mr. Erickson, with nary a single poster actually engaging with either the article posted, or the substance of Mr. Erickson’s own opinion.

Yeah, as if you were “fair and balanced” on the subject of Sarah Palin until Red State chimed in! Hahahaha!

I think most of the haters of Palin on the right, hate her because she seem to suck all the oxygen out of their preferred candidate. Waah, not fair! A lot of Ron Paul supporters are like this. How could an “idiot” like Palin outdo Ron Paul “smart”

Erickson has sure come across as a silly drama-queen with this. He does indeed “sigh” a lot whenever on CNN. Oh, well. At least he’s not yet gone into the gutter the way Tucker Carlson did, with that stomach-churning Tyson story. Thanks to that, whenever I see Carlson’s face on tv, I now truly feel like puking.

I simply don’t understand what got them so worked up. Reading that blog, you’d think there is nothing going on.

Meh, it's happening elsewhere as well. Ace has turned pretty decidedly against Palin too from what I can tell.

They just think Palin isn't being very straight forward with people. How on earth is she still undecided after 2 1/2 years? What kind of leader could Palin be if she is so indecisive she dithers over a decision like this and keeps dragging it out? And if she has been planning a run all along and this is just her brilliant strategy (as many of her supporters insist), then isn't she basically just lying about being undecided in the first place?

Palin is just alienating a lot of people who used to be supportive, or at least sympathetic, towards her. The path she has chosen is not wearing well. And if she doesn't run now (and I think it is clear she isn't going to), her bastions of strong support such as C4P are going to erupt in a fury of rage and completely melt down.

Oh sorry. Yeah Palin never said end of September but just in case you thought she did, she told FOX news the other day that there would be no announcement today.

Yet Erick played his little game anyway.

Let us know when Erick starts the countdown to Christie’s announcement , should be fun!

"I like the idea of the 7th in front of 15,000 at Liberty U"

Sounds pretty good to me, but whenever, I will stand and cheer when she declines to participate in a few of those asinine, idiotic gotcha things the LSM calls debates.

Her reason could be: "I'm waiting until you clowns figure out how to ask an intelligent question."

Did you ever just stop to think that maybe, just maybe she decided long ago what she was going to do with regards running for President? There is no indecisiveness here?

This is all a moot point if she announces that she is not running. But I really do believe that this is strategic in nature and part of her campaign strategy.

How can any one fault her for carrying out her own plan the way shes fit? Especially if it turns out to be a winning strategy?

It seems to me that there are many people on this site that are not even qualified to tie their own shoes let alone pick apart someones national campaign strategy.

"I was kind of wondering about your bizarre fascination."

I've been around FR for a long time. I've never seen anything like this.

Anyone who dares criticize Palin (and I am a big supporter of hers) is derided as an idiot or a commie. Especially on the issue of "will she or won't she".

She's 100% right on the core issues, and the best retail politician of the 21st century so far, but her lack of resolution on the matter of a political race is damaging to her.

I think far more the she or her supporters realize.

Rita- you’ve shown yourself to be sensible in my short tenure here.

Do you not remember the early days after the 2008 election when everyone save SP was licking their wounds. When they did stick their heads up like prarie dogs they stuck their fingers in the air to see where the wind blew?

SP has fought, fought, regrouped and fought again.

You may not care for her tactics, but the British didn’t care much for Ethan Allen, or Francis Marion, either...

K. The substance of Mr. Erickson's opinion is that Mrs Palin is toasty with conservatives.

I am a conservative.

She's ok in my book.

Ergo, he's wrong. At least as far as this conservative (and many others) go.

As for the ad hominem.... Yep. I also point fingers and laugh at Yon Yohansen when a get a chance. Any of the millions of them.

Eric/Erik Ericsson/Erikson/Erickson... take your pick on spelling it. It's like mohamet/mohamed/etc....

There are millions of 'em.

Hit dog barks.

I never promised to be polite or logical. But I get a vote anyway.

I do hope Romney goes down in primary history for weakest turnout ever.

I agree 100 percent with you. Its really getting stupid how some people are reacting. OMG she hasn’t announced yet!! How about she will announce when she damn well feels like it! Its not like she is putting a gun to anyone’s head and forcing them to only vote for her. If some people don’t like it, go vote for someone else..geez..and the idiocy from these RINOS is really laughable. They hate her, yet they want her to announce already, yeah and I know why too, if she runs they will have more of a reason to non-stop attack her. That is what they want. Its HER life, HER choice. She runs her life the way she pleases, no one is going to tell her what to do

Mariner, you've surely read the reasoning of many on this forum, that Palin is executing a well planned strategy with regard to the timing of her announcement. She doesn't lack resolution. She's simply unwilling to freely give away the element of surprise that she currently holds over every presumptive opponent (including the state-run media).

As someone with near 100% name recognition and broad grass roots support, there was nothing whatsoever to gain by her being involved in the early stages of the primary. She's saved hers and her supporters' time, energy, and campaign dollars during her 'hold out' period.

One can argue that we're now well past the 'early stage', and that it's time for her to step forward if she's going to do so. I tend to agree with that, but I'm an impatient Palin supporter, so...

Frankly, I trust her instincts on this. She's proven to have an above average level of savvy where it comes to politics, during her twenty year public service career. I'm only hoping that she steps in before the first scheduled primary filing date.

Erick Erickson once showed an awareness of the spiritual realm in his sensibilities.

He has apparently become benumbed by the influence of those he once attempted to persuade...

It’s a danger of perceived power and influence.

I’ve been deceived before-it’s insidious but recognizeable, and treatable.

Erickson has his panties in a bunch because his September 2011 Poll shows:

Palin - 52%

Cain - 21%

Perry - 7%
