[Homosexual] Hair Stylist Refuses to Cut Anti-Gay Governor's Hair (Susana Martinez, R-NM)
SheWired ^ | February 22, 2012 | Staff

Posted on 02/22/2012 2:12:32 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

It's been a long-running joke (though seldom enforced) among LGBT folks, particularly gay men who work in the creative-service spaces: If you discriminate against the gay community, we will refuse to cater/plan/decorate your weddings, design and make your dresses, or make you look pretty for your next big event.

Now, it seems, one gay hair stylist hasn't just made that joke, he's lived up to his word.

Antonio Darden (left) styled Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico (right) on three separate occasions. Martinez is a Republican who got Sarah Palin's endorsement in 2010, and though she may believe that the United States Constitution needs an amendment banning gay marriage, she still adores having second-class citizens cut and style her hair. So when the Governor's staff called to schedule a fourth visit to Antonio’s Hair Studio in Santa Fe, Darden declined.

“The governor's aides called not too long ago, wanting another appointment to come in," Darden told KOB News. "Because of her stances and her views on this I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I'd changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no again."

Darden, who has been with his partner for 15 years, also said, "I think it's just equality, dignity for everyone. I think everybody should be allowed the right to be together.

Watch Darden’s interview with Albuquerque local news station KOB below.

Stupid business decision. Plenty of straight hair stylists out there and things like this can cause unexpected backlash which could put the guy out of business.

But it is a civil rights violation for a photographer to refuse to take Bruce and Barney’s “wedding” photos. 2+2=4

Precious doesn’t realize that the prestige of styling a female governor’s hair gets a reputation. His actions only have currency in West Hollywood, CA, and Greenwich Village, NY. Maybe also at the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Plant in Where-ever-it-is, VT.

That's fine, as long as we can all (on every side of the issue) speak out and boycott without fear of retribution.

It’s his right not to.

But if it was a Christian hairstylist and a homosexual politician wanted a haircut, there would be all sorts of hissy fits thrown.

Does anybody else see the BIG fallacy in this snippet?

Why do they want government in their bedrooms and relationships anyway?????

>>>But it is a civil rights violation for a photographer to refuse to take Bruce and Barney’s “wedding” photos. 2+2=4<<<

And a crime for me to tell him take his f-gg-t face out the door and off my premises. How exactly does that work?

No bias there...

Such a fascist bigot. This is a hate crime against a Christian. To demand to rewrite the Bible—and make a filthy lifestyle choice a “right” is insane when all rights in the US come from God-—and sodomy is NOT a right—it shows you how mentally ill these people are.

Who wants to know what he does in his bedroom—puke—inhumane....get government OUT of the bedroom and legislating evil instead of Virtue—which is the basis of Just Law.

He has no “right” to spread disease and demean human beings and mock God in the public square.

The stylist is, of course, perfectly at liberty to choose his clients. Likewise, the governor is free to select another stylist to take care of her hair. It’s the very essence of freedom of association.

Or she could just buy a Flowbee. I’m sure EBay has some.

There's no dignity in being a sodomite.

So only homosexuals can provide those services?

Ellen DeGeneres supposedly makes $45 million per year. Gay activists need to give it a rest.

Love that headline. A Christian politician wants to ban reciprocity with regard to homosexual unions called "marriage" in states that do not and that means they are "anti-Gay."

Transparent bull sh*t.

Who’s breeding all these abnormal gay people? I know it isn’t me.

It's not genetic. It's spiritual.

Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another; men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves that penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; (Romans 1:27,28)

These wicked people reach a point with God where he stops striving with them and simply gives them over. He's done with them. Are all sodomites reprobate (rejected)? I'm afraid that most of them are. Although 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 makes it clear that some can be saved. Maybe it's those who experimented with it, or found it expedient in that culture (prostitutes). It's not a place anyone should be, because the pattern abasement is clear.

But here is a sobering thought: "He that believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36) It may be too late for the reprobate, but not for many. "For He says: 'In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 2:2)

Salvation is here.

It says he's been with his partner for 15 years. Apparently they've been "allowed" the right to be together. Dignity? Sorry, if you don't have it, a little piece of paper isn't going to give it to you.

Hair dressers are a dime a dozen. Gay activist hair dressers who pose for limo-liberal media pictures are a million dollars a dozen.

Let them find out that they are a minority and the majority is not gooving on their butts.

The ghost of Lester Maddox!

Maddox said he had a right to refuse service to people because of their looks and beliefs.

Antonio agrees!

But it was Federal law that said no - you have to serve all, you can't exclude on the basis of race, color or creed.

Mr. Darden is a civil rights violator and he just did it to a Spanish Catholic.

He should be under indictment by his own rules.
