Well, see there’s the Old South, and then there’s whatever I can get away with calling the South to hack out an article in a few minutes.
“Hate crimes laws in the U.S., which have been on the books for a decade at least, apparently aren’t enough to deter people motivated by the basest and most fatuous of human emotions: envy, bias, prejudice and hatred.”
You know what other laws apparently aren’t enough to deter murder? Muder laws, which have been on the books for a smidge longer than hate crimes.
“Muder” = murder
