WASHINGTON B. Todd Jones, Acting Director of the ATF, issued the following statement: Department of Justice's Office of Inspector General (grovel) is rightfully critical of ATF's handling of Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious investigations. ATF accepts full responsibility for failure up and down the chain of command... led to a series of "regrettable events" (bumps in the road).
I have referred the findings of the OIG report to our Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations to determine if any adverse actions are warranted. The Privacy Act prohibits us from discussing any personnel actions related to those named in the report.
We are pleased that the DOJ OIG has acknowledged the reforms that my new leadership team has put into place since my appointment as Acting Director

Hand Picked? Naaaa.
Thanks Freep Kaslin, keep on keepin on. R.
If there is a God, the Adults will be in charge in January and all this nonsense will end !
Mentioning Wide Receiver means this is a CYA statement and nothing more. There is no comparison.
Issa has that information. If he fails to act on it, then it will be disseminated publicly and the chips will fall where they will.
The people that gave him that information gave it to others as well. That is something DOJ and the White House better think long and hard about. They are being allowed to play their game... for now.
yep, Who (oblah blah) wanted to arm the cartels, why did they arm the cartels, and what was the desired outcome.
I have noticed that all the “America’s lax gun laws are killing Mexicans” media releases have come to a screeching halt. Wonder why? the cookie jar turned out to be a bear trap.
I really hope so.
The same peoople who were working on gun control under the radar. But don't tell anyone. Obama and the idiot progresso's, think it is a secret.
“My bad-move on.”
Mentioning Wide Receiver means this is a CYA statement and nothing more....Ended in early 2007. Was Obama President then?
Never give up hope. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Someone, several someone's in fact, needs to be in jail for this.
I no longer think Issa has the backbone for it. Especially after that last dog-n-pony show.
Dead Corpse~ “ This stopped being a game when peoples lives were destroyed over something the Feds weren’t supposed to be doing in the first place.
Someone, several someone’s in fact, needs to be in jail for this.”
Two Federal agants were killed in the performance of their official duties. These were not accidental shootings or drive-byes ; these agents were purposely and intentionaly murdered with malice and forethought. Someone needs to be held accountable with at least prison terms.
I don’t believe the issue of continued legal pursuit has been lessened by Issa ; I believe the fault is the unwillingness of House leadership (Bohner). Time for new leadership with Chutzpah !
Let the trials begin ...
Weakness like this, we cannot afford.
Agreed. That’s why if he and Congress don’t address it fully and without compromise, we put it in the hands of the American people to fix.
You have more faith in the general public than I do.
