Skip to comments.I'm with Piers Morgan on US gun control (Another Brit sounds off on US Constitution)

Morgan has enraged US extremists with his calls for gun control but their defence of the right to bear arms in the face of senseless slaughter is abhorrent.
You'd imagine Americans already had plenty of reasons to take against Piers Morgan. But it wasn't until he tackled the second amendment that matters got tricky for him. A petition is demanding Morgan be deported because he had the temerity to suggest, in the wake of the Newtown mass child murders, that the US could use a little gun control.
It's hard to resist cheap jokes about Morgan. Indeed, many in Britain have said they don't want him back. But it's the people who brush aside any degree of senseless slaughter in defence of their right to bear arms that are the joke...

So much for saving their butts from tyranny.....twice
Brits truly don’t get the second amendment. I’ve tried. They can’t wrap their heads around it. There is a fear there that’s frankly unmerited.
The Guardian is a lefty paper.
Don’t take it too seriously, it punches with the weight of a drunk Duck.
Imagine if one of us had an opinion on their miserable little island and their laws. Many British suffer from a superiority complex which comes from being royal subjects. They feel that by extension from the British crown, that their opinions and viewpoints are above all others.
So much for saving their butts from tyranny.....twiceYou won't get much gratitude. The common perception there is that America joined in the war late... twice.
They are hoplophobic, that is the term you are looking for.
BAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!HAAAAA! Oh thats some beautiful irony! Seriously, her posts should come with a fatuity warning.
Just like merry old England?
Why the heck do you think we fought and won two wars against you? So we WOULDN'T be like merry old England!
Yeah. We gathered thousands of personal firearms and sent them over to help in the Home Defence. Finally, they collected these firearms back from the citizenry and crushed them to obliteration in grateful appreciation to our gesture.
Thank you, John Bull(s**t).
(Been there, saw them, believe it --)
The Brits already lost their country and what tiny freedom they had, to sharia law and Islamist hegemony.
The USA is merely threatened once again by old fashioned nationalist socialist totalitarians and communist Marxists bankrupting the country, ruining the economy, and attempting to destroy our bill of rights. We citizens have the means to recover, theirs don’t.
How soon they forget.
I don’t care who you’re with, Debby, it’s not your Constitution.
“Morgan has enraged US extremists with his calls for gun control but their defence of the right to bear arms in the face of senseless slaughter is abhorrent”
Proving, yet again, the Brits just don’t get it.
As Barry Goldwater quoted in his 1964 Acceptance speech:
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. Cicero
The last time the Brits came for our guns, it didn’t turn out so well for them. Piers, how about we hold a debate on Lexington Green with a follow-up presser at Concord Bridge? I’m free on April 19th, how about you?
This seriously has to be one of the worst informed pieces of “journalism” ever to come to print. Every point she tries to make she’s just 100% wrong on. She’s assembled a straw man to argue against that’s just a flat out bale of hay.
What an idiot.
The violent crime rate in Britain is FOUR TIMES that of the US. Ain’t gun control great?
WTF is Deborah Orr and why should I be concerned about her opinion on the US Constitution?
(Morgan has enraged US extremists with his calls for gun control)
Incorrect. That sorry sack of crap has enraged American Citizens with his loud mouth arrogant hatred of our Constitutional Rights.
I am a former Police Officer, Veteran, a Christian and have never been arrested for anything in my life. I pay my taxes and support several charities. As an American I strongly support the US Constitution.
But I guess that makes me an extremists to you!
They are subjects to the crown
We are subjects to ourselves, individually without apology.
WTF cares what Brits think? They live on a frigging island, soon to be overrun by subhuman, murderous fascist muzzie filth and marxist morons!
“The common perception there is that America joined in the war late... twice.”
Actually, that is indeed the sentiment across the pond. While they are grateful for our participation, they are of the firm belief that by the time we joined the party they had already done all the heavy lifting, and that we came riding in at the end and claimed the glory. They truly do believe that.
Cheaper than Dirt: Price Gouging Extraordinaires
Under free enterprise, Cheaper than Dirt has every right to charge what they want for their products.
And we have every right to advertise their price gouging to Americans, so they may make an informed decision about doing business with that company in the future.
There was no guns to issue to them so they used their own.
If the war was lost the signers of the Declaration of Independence would be killed for treason against the crown.
Their lives depended on the use of privately owned firearms and people then think they wrote the 2 amendment so the state could control guns.
No way they knew the individual citizen needed arms.
Nice, invite a guest into your home, he pees on the carpet in front of you and then blames you for it. Time for both of these creeps to be kicked out or made so uncomfortable that they are compelled to leave on their own.
You can attriburte that to centruies of being subjects as opposed to citizens.
Ha ha. How about “I knew there was a reason we booted you out the last time.”
‘....soon to be overrun by subhuman, murderous fascist muzzie filth and marxist morons”
Britain might have done better under the Nazis, who regarded Germans & English as racial kin. Muzzies hate all who are not muzzies.
(hope to provoke discussion, not flaming....)
Last I checked, we fought a war against the British a couple of centuries ago because we didn’t particularly like their way of doing things. If they don’t like our gun laws, by all means, they’re more than welcome to stay on or go back to their little island.
“’So much for saving their butts from tyranny.....twice’
“You won’t get much gratitude. The common perception there is that America joined in the war late... twice.”
I suspect they need not worry that we will save them a third time. They really are no longer worth saving, if they ever were.
That's why Piers refuses to talk about anything other than the gun-murder rate.
Uh, Ms. Slut Lady? You DO remember that this is the country you always go begging to for arms, both military and personal, every time you’re about to get overrun by National Socialists and their ilk? You don’t? Oh, that’s right, I guess you were edumacated in pubic screwls. Never mind.
Not only are they probably not worth saving, but they've become so brainwashed by the Marxists, they're no longer capable of seeing their way of life as being under attack. Oh well.
“Morgan has enraged US extremists...”
Notice how they start right off with a lie? In asserting that the vast *majority* of Americans who own guns are “extremists”. There are far more Americans that own guns than there are British citizens (62.6m).
As such, those vocal opponents of gun liberty in Britain are themselves extremists. And ones who lack such insights as an understanding of cause and effect, or even basic pattern recognition.
So they are not just extremists, but defective ones.
