Do you have any information on the unwed Mother’s home in WA?

It may have been connected to the church they attended there...Unitarian?

I had read that they were on the Canadian border and used a Canadian hospital for deliveries for cost savings.

I have read nothing on this for a year or so.

Commonly, high school girls “in trouble” in Seattle would go across the border to Vancouver, to one of the two unwed mother homes there. One was run by the Catholic Church and the other one was run by the Salvation Army. I’d bet $ that Stanley anne went to the Salvation Army one. She went to high school in Seattle so she would be doing what others did in that situation.

She probably intended to give up the baby for adoption. She was only 17. But then at the last minute she decided to keep it. Fitting with her counter culture ideas at the time (she’d already done at least one taboo at 17, head straight to bed with a black adult male).

The witnesses say she couldn’t even change a diaper and didnt seem to know how to care for the baby. That sure fits if you didn’t intend to keep the baby.
