Third place? We couldn’t do better than #&@$ing third place?

New Jersey residents were beaten out by Ohio and Maryland in a survey ranking individuals most likely to drop swear words on a complete stranger during a phone conversation.

On the flip side, analysis by the Marchex Institute found that Washington, Massachusetts and Arizona topped the list of state residents least likely to lose their cool. …

It isn't always because they're angry - sometimes they just talk that way.

I have a good friend from Bawston with an accent you could cut with a knife, who married a lady from Alabaaama with a Suthuhn accent reeking of magnolias. I know the secret of their relationship - neither can understand a single word the other one says. ;-)

When strangers look at me funny, or have an awkward pause on the phone after they ask where I am originally from... and I answered New Jersey, I come back in my best mobster voice, “Whaddaya got a F***in’ problem wid dat?”

Living in Texas I remember visiting Florida a few times. The culture really hits you there at the airport, because you expect people to be similar to Texans. But they’re not. They’re rude and vulgar. Then you listen a bit closer and realize that they’re from the Northeast, and just flew in, or are flying out.

Some people just don’t have class. What gets me is how many “professionals” in those areas are vulgar. If I were an employer there, you’d get one warning and then you’re gone.

I have a Classics professor who devolves into his Joisey mobster voice when describing the old Roman governments. It actually makes a lot of sense. ;-)
