A problem for the Progressives is that they do not like people or freedom. SO they loathe the Constitution.
They can’t say so in so many words, so what they do is swathe it in laudatory words and phrases of respect and then bundle it out of the conversation as quickly as possible.
The NRA does not advocate armed rebellion against the constitutional government of the United States of America, and neither do I. However, the Second Amendment is there for the security of a free State - to prevent tyranny or to enable armed rebellion against tyranny, should that blight ever arise in our country. In the event of tyranny, I join with many NRA members in advocating for the restoration of constitutional government, in accordance with the written supreme law of the land and with our oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
Those that advocate tyranny always use this type of reasoning.
As for being in the mainstream, Mr. Journolist professor, you are way the hell out of it.

Answer: Because the NRA focuses on immediate legalistic skirmishes while the nation's children ( and next generation of voters) attend our nation's socialist-entitlement and godless K-12 schools and universities. These schools and universities are filled to the brim with Marxists, homo-bullies, and teachers who were trained by professors of this ilk.

They always start with the qualifier about what they think is reasonable for you to own and some how this makes them pro second amendment. This shows a fundamental ignorance of the constitution and the bill of rights. If the police needs to have a fully auto carbine (assault rifle) and several 30 round magazines. Then it stands to reason I should also have these. Since we face the same threats as they face. If we did not face these same threats we would not need police. The threats from a tyrannical government in which the police are a arm of not with standing.
