Sharpton: If Zimmerman Was In An ‘MMA Attack’ With Martin, ‘Why Didn’t He Use His MMA Training?’

MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton weighed in with his thoughts on the trajectory of the George Zimmerman trial on Wednesday after a medical examiner testified about the nature of the fatal wounds he inflicted on Florida teen, Trayvon Martin, in 2012. Sharpton said that it made little sense to him that Zimmerman did not use his recent training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) to incapacitate Martin during their struggle and instead used his firearm.

Now host Alex Wagner highlighted a portion of the medical examiner’s testimony who testified that Martin’s right hand was not injured extensively, suggesting he was not “raining blows” down on Zimmerman as previous testimony had indicated.

“If he was raining blows, MMA-style, you think there would be some physical evidence of that on his fists,” Sharpton said.....

A teenage male killed an older male with one punch in that soccer fight in California. I’ve been hesitant to bring this up for fear of being called a racist, but my martial arts instructor taught us to not try to hit Americans who are black in their heads. Their physiology is such that they can take head punches better than Americans who are white. Not because they’re stupid, their head is just better protected.

A couple years ago we had a local man defend himself with a knife despite the gun on his hip. He said he didn’t want to escalate the situation any more than he had to.

MMA gives the advantage to surprise. Zimmerman was surprised, sucker punched as it were. MMA also favors the stronger contestant. That would be Mr. Martin. The real deciding factor for Mr. Sharpton is, of course, the race of the loser and the race of the winner. Nothing else contributes to any perception of guilt or innocence.

Let's see: I'm a man and a strong man is on top of me beating my head on concrete and I have my choice of an instant gun shot or some martial art moves I only know about but am not proficient, which do I choose? If T.M sucker punched Zimmerman in the nose it could have nullified what little MMA training Zimmerman had. A punch in the nose is painful and can leave a person disoriented. Someone should sucker punch Fat Al in the nose to see how well he takes it. There's a good chance that Zimmerman was close to losing consciousness at some point during the altercation.
