McCain: $1 coin could lead to bigger tips for strippers (now we know where his mind is)

Sen. John McCain has a wish for any exotic dancers who might feel the pinch from legislation he’s backing that would do away with the dollar bill and replace it with a dollar coin: Shake what your momma gave you and make more moolah. …

When pressed about the predicament facing scores of the country’s skin-baring and bill-collecting women, McCain responded without missing a beat, “Then I hope that they could obtain larger denominations.” …

Has anybody out there seen a 50 cent coin lately?

The real big one with JFK on it? It keeps falling on top of my Marilyn Monroe Collector Medallion from the Franklin Mint, and it won't get off.

It would be like dropping quarters at the car wash.

Well, around this neck of the woods $2 bills are enjoying a resurgence since the local “gentlemen’s club” opened.

Considering what they do with ping-pong balls, it might not be a problem.

I heard of strippers in Olongapo City, Phillipines who would pick up a stack of coins with her, er, ah, private parts.

He was in the Navy and no doubt spent some time in the Phillipines on shore leave.

McCain is hinting that due to inflation, the dollar coin will soon replace the penny. Strippers will be confused at first.

I’ve got a few of those of the same size, but they have Benjamin Franklin’s face on them instead of JFK’s. Also, I think some of them have silver content.

“Where would they be inserted?”

In a slot, just like on a slot machine. Oops!

They recently opened one of those “gentlemens clubs” around here too.

The city issued a permit. Then the people living near the place exploded. The city tried to revoke it, claiming that it was approved “in error”. The club owners took them to court and after a lengthy battle the permit was enforced.

When the club finally opened they named it “Controversy”.

Strippers, bell hops, and valets have been taking it in the ______ for years from inflation. If you get tipped in dollar bills, inflation really kills you, as people aren't quick to break habits such as $1/bag.

As for coins, I would gladly use coins in $1, $5, $10, and $20 increments. I would also appreciate $500 and $1000 bill denominations.

It was a lot easier to pay for small items when ice-cream cones, soda, candy bars, hot dogs, etc. could all be paid for with a single coin. And returning to 10 cent sodas isn't ever going to happen.

All the Franklin half dollars were 90% silver along with the 1964 Kennedy ones. 1965-1970 Kennedy half dollars were 40% silver. After that they were the now standard copper/nickel clad coins.

I use dollar coins often.
Singles are filthy! Full of bacteria, fecal matter, all kinds of nasty stuff!
The have a life measured in months. Then they’re shredded and dump in a landfill. And more are printed, at our expense.
Coins last many decades, and are, by nature of the metals, anti-bacterial. The metals are able to be recycled.
In Ohio, at least, they disinfect the paper singles with something that has a heavy perfume smell. My wallet stinks of cheap perfume. I wanna wash my hands after handling singles! Just think of all the people who didn’t wash their hands who touched these bills before you got them????
They’re disgusting!
I agree with McStain on this issue!

In a sane world McCain would be at the Happy Home with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes.
