Brillioun Energy Interview on Smart Scarecrow Show [Updated -- Video Available] (Cold Fusion)
E-Cat World ^ | 12 September 2013 | admin

We haven’t heard much at all from Brillouin for a quite a while, and now they have decided to come out of hiding and do an interview on Gary Hendershot’s Smart Scarecrow Show. They have mentioned on their web site that they have entered into a licensing agreement for their LENR technology covering three countries, and so it could be interesting to find out how the company has been doing.

UPDATE:

The video of the interview is below — it starts at around the 30:00 minute mark.

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: coldfusion; lenr; nonrossi
I normally don't post video stuff, but I think the information included here justifies doing so.

The high points:

Brillouin Corporation is a firm seeking to commercialize cold fusion energy generation devices.

They are now seeking their SECOND round of venture capital for further development of their techniques.

They expect commercial-quality units for both home and industrial scale devices to be released to their OEM's about this time next year.

They have two products in the works...a low temperature unit targeting heat production only with an operating temperature around 125 C, and a high-temperature unit with an operating temperature around 600 C.

The high temperature unit they plan to initially target into no-longer-economical coal-fired electrical plants, but they do plan to produce a CHP home unit. Their high-temperature prototype is sized to produce 30KW thermal/10KW electrical. COP is 300W input for the 30KW output.

Maybe the former executives at Surebeam can get this venture commercialized? /s

The press releases and disclosed licensing agreements are the standard MO. The best part is when the employees find out their paychecks didn't clear and they are fighting over the balance remaining in the postage meter in the mailroom.

What’s the going price on an E-Cat today?

“What’s the going price on an E-Cat today?”

There you go throwing facts in everyones face again ;)

Physics... Its not just a good idea... Its THE LAW!

"What’s the going price on an E-Cat today?"

In case you hadn't noticed, the thread is not about the E-Cat.

"Physics... Its not just a good idea... Its THE LAW!"

Very little in physics rises to the level of "law". And any part of physics is subject to change if replicable experimental data invalidates "the law".

So, will this be the "F-Cat" or the "G-Cat"?

Just as with "global warming" there seems to be no way to demonstrate that NOTHING has happened. I encourage you to ping me on September 13th, 2014 with an update on commercial offerings.

ummm unless I am wrong I can’t think of any physics being changed or invalidated recently. Just because we are “ignorant” of or don’t “understand” the physics behind whatever idea you would like to propose does not mean that it does not exist and does not change it... We haven’t changed gravity. Still works the same as it always has. We can levitate a train a couple of inches from a track, but that does not change the physics of gravity.

Both the E-cat and the system you mentioned are LENR (Low Energy Nucler Reactors) or “cold-fusion” reactions. To date there has not been a demonstrated technique, device, appliance, reactor what have you that is able to generate a net positive energy fusion reaction.

Fission = yes
Fusion = no

I have done a not insignificant amount of research in to fusion reactions from Tokamak reactors with NBI fusing dueterium to LENR and Cold Fusion. So far fusion is a snake oil, perpetual motion, hokum, bunk, pipe dream.

We should continue to research in to it and I feel certain one day we will “figure” a way to accomplish sustainable, clean and energy positive nuclear fusion. Is that day Today, or next week or this year? Don’t think so.

LOL. Once upon a time, the CF naysayers constant refrain was, there is no replicable data, so cold fusion is bunk. Now that there "is" replicable data, the new refrain is that there are "no commercial devices", so cold fusion is still bunk.

I don't know whether or not "cold fusion" is bunk. Ping me on September 13th, 2014 with an update on the commercial offerings described above.

No physics recently invalidated?? Just two or three days ago, I read an article in which the current theoretical physics model for how the sun's internal circulation works has been proven massively wrong.

Physics is just about due for it's centennial bitch-slapping. About every 100 years, the meme arises that "there is nothing new to be learned", and all that remains is to extend the number of decimal places. And then their whole theoretical concept is thrown in the crapper.

Will it be LENR that does the honors, or another phenomenon?? We shall see.

"Both the E-cat and the system you mentioned are LENR (Low Energy Nucler Reactors) or “cold-fusion” reactions. To date there has not been a demonstrated technique, device, appliance, reactor what have you that is able to generate a net positive energy fusion reaction."

The published literature says you're wrong.

"I have done a not insignificant amount of research in to fusion reactions from Tokamak reactors with NBI fusing dueterium to LENR and Cold Fusion. So far fusion is a snake oil, perpetual motion, hokum, bunk, pipe dream."

So where and with whom did you do this "cold fusion research"??

"We should continue to research in to it and I feel certain one day we will “figure” a way to accomplish sustainable, clean and energy positive nuclear fusion. Is that day Today, or next week or this year? Don’t think so.

"Energy positive" cold fusion is already demonstrated, despite your comments to the contrary. At a sufficient intentsity to provide significant power?? Most experiments not, but some impressive energy densities have been demonstrated. Can those be scaled up?? The jury is still out on that one.

How is this statement compatible with the claim that a company will be supplying commercial quality units in a year?

"How is this statement compatible with the claim that a company will be supplying commercial quality units in a year?"

Because the statement is a one-line summary of the overall results of almost thirty years of research, and the claim is related to a single instance of a single company.

Note that "I" am not making the claim, Brillouin is.

The video which makes the claim is of interest because it reveals how close they are to commercialization and how much progress they have made in a very short time. I have been following them for a while, and the "delta progress" since their last public revelations was shocking to me. Huge advances.

In fact, after garnering the info in the video, I would put them well ahead of either Rossi or Defkalion.

I think Godes is correct. Both Rossi and Defkalion can make lots of heat, but they don't have the control down pat, while Brillouin does.

After watching the first few minutes of the video, I find myself wondering why anyone is bothering with “cold fusion”, LENR, or whatever the name du jour is, given the fact that an operation in Brazil has developed a gravity motor.

So, did you actually bother to view the portion that relates to Brillouin/LENR??

My guess......not.

Skeptopaths apparently have a visceral objection to actually looking at data (which is why their skepticism is pathological).

You guess wrong. I listened to about two-thirds of it.

My eyes began to glaze over when one of your genuiuses misapplied electron-volts.

No, I guessed right. By your own admission you didn't watch it completely.

"My eyes began to glaze over when one of your genuiuses misapplied electron-volts."

Where would that be, pray?? Typos happen, as do mis-speakings in verbal interviews. For one minor (and probably not significant) detail, you dismiss the entire thing?? Not a very rational attitude, but to be expected from a skeptopath.
