Los Angeles, CA, October 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Recording artist Qba Libre today released #OneTrayvon, a music video that re-imagines the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman incident set to the Qba Libre song “Ola Criminal.” The piece was directed by writer/director Barry Canty and can be viewed on YouTube at the link below as well as at www.onetrayvon.tumblr.com.
Performed in a mix of English and Spanish, “Ola Criminal” is about crime and the recent oubursts of gun violence in America. The song is from Qba Libre’s latest mixtape Cuban Missile Crisis and features vocals from Mauri.
#OneTrayvon is the third music video collaboration between Qba Libre and filmmaker Barry Canty. “When Barry came to me with the idea I was immediately inspired,” said Qba Libre. “I realized it was important to be a part of the Trayvon Martin conversation, but I was still searching for a way to engage by integrating it into my art. This concept was the perfect opportunity.”
“The inspiration for #OneTrayvon came to me while watching the video for the Earl Sweatshirt song ‘Hive.’ I was familiar with the track ‘Ola Criminal’ and had given some thought to creating a video for it, but didn’t have an idea about how to approach it until then,” said director Barry Canty. “I was and still am troubled by how much of the public response to the verdict in the Trayvon Martin killing fell along racial lines, and I wanted to encourage people to see it from a broader perspective. On that night in Sanford, Florida, an adult with a gun chased and killed an unarmed teen. It’s that simple. Forget all the posthumous character assassination of Trayvon Martin and the discussion of George Zimmerman’s attitude toward race. An adult accosted a minor, frightened him and then killed the minor for fighting back. Not to sound naive, but I do not believe George Zimmerman is a racist - it’s too simplistic of an explanation and his personal actions don’t support that notion - but it’s unfortunate the discussion of the incident has the cloud of racism hanging over it. Black people shouldn’t be the only ones mad. Anyone who opposes the killing of unarmed children should be as well.”
The piece ends with a moving coda set to Antonio Vivaldi’s “Stabat Mater” and features actual Tweets disparaging the dead teen, President Obama and promoting gun violence.
#OneTrayvon stars Michael Terrence, Luis Garcia, Kevin Keller, Stan Vang and Jesse Taylor. The video was produced by Finneus Egan.
About Qba Libre The Qba Libre song “Makuta”, featuring Culver City Dub Collective and produced by Mike Baiardi, was recently used in the awarding winning F/X Network drama Justified for the episode “Hole in the Wall”. When he used the Zimmerman episode to create civil strife by announcing his attacker was a “victim”. of a security guard doing his job when shot and killed by the guard defending himself..On Obama’s “that could have been me” , cue, the propaganda arm swung into action with drastic results..
The guard a big Obama supporter was an “hispanic” who is part black with a last name which is “jewish”. .Who’s doing surveilance in a posted private mixed race area of modest means experiencing robberies and burgalries by young blacks. Being such it’s legal to question anyone of blue, red, green,white, or black complexion as to their purpose being there. In this security guard situation he discontinued a surveilance after being suggested to do so by the police.The guard could have legally questioned the person under surveilance but instead allowed him to continue on his way uncontested.
Only to have that person under surveilance as the guard was returning to his vehicle. knock the guard to the ground start beating his head against the sidewalk and wind up getting killed over a struggle the guards gun.
Now consider all those congressional investigations going on. If somebody even suggests impeachment. Get to your black base voters, whom you’ve done nothing for, all worked up.
Pick on some security guard who’s doing his job and make him expendable. Time to employ propaganda devices. Emphasize that white jews last name! . Call that surveilance “stalking”!, The area he’s patrolling “public access” area not gated “owned by rich whitieys”,never mention the guard is part african and dark skinned.. Depict that person he’s watching a 10 year old black kid (show picture) a “victim” and a saint. Not a six foot 160 pound 16 year old, “who was killed in cold blood” and not who was killed fighting over a gun..The episode was given the full hyperbolic treatment which lasted for months and the results are clear..
You will never see a true or false poll conducted in black districts asking if they beleive the Zimmerman attacker a Travon Martin was the following : a “victim”,” in a white neighborhood”,” ill-legally stopped” ,”accosted”, and “shot in cold blood” . My guess is 80 % would respond “true”. Since this barrage of propaganda black youths have been using these devices as their excuse even citing the “victims” first name .

By not denouncing and exposing the media’s disgusting role and allowing the President’s ruthless use of propaganda. If Obama does move in that direction it will be because he was never challanged when he pulled this off.
