Turkish TV presenter Gözde Kansu has been dismissed after a spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) criticized her for wearing a low-cut top on television, saying he found her outfit unacceptable.
AKP spokesperson Hüseyin Çelik criticized the presenters costume during the Veliaht TV program without naming her, but saying he found the outfit extreme because it revealed cleavage.

Was there hair showing?
Yowza.!! Not guilty.!! d;^)
“Revealing” usually doesn’t entail “all of it”.
She probably was just auditioning for Fox News.
I wish headlines could be more clear. Given this is Turkish TV I wasn’t sure at first if we were talking about a man or a woman.
she’s dgood looking. looks liek she;s got a big mou th
he provably bitches a lot is wha t i mean.
It's already arrested and jailed military (active and retired), journalists, professors, and all who oppose the AKP.
The recent events in Egypt made the AKP very nervous.. especially since until recent changes in the Constitution the Army had the task to remove Islamists and hold new elections.
The last time the Army acted was 1998 I believe. Since then the constitution was changed preventing them from removing government threats against the secular Republic of Turkey IIRC.
Looks like she ought to be arrested by the fashion police
Turkey breast cold cut.
CNN built a media empire on Lynne Russell’s ample bosom.
That’s just how it’s done in the TV world.
What do you think?
She’s lovely. Turkish women are some of the most physically beautiful on the planet, IMHO.
I’m told, however (by a friend of mine who was stationed in Germany and made more than one trip to ‘turk town’) that it is generally a very bad idea to look at a Turkish woman when there are Turkish men present.
Turkey breasts? Yumm!
She'd get it but has to get the requisite blonde bleach job first. THEN she'd get the job. Brunettes need not apply on Fox News, unless it's MALE. The guys don't even need hair but the women have to be knockouts.
Yes, there are gorgeous brunettes there but they are also severely smart. Turkie-cleavage probably AIN'T that smart...so she ought to go blonde.
Am I being cynical? :o)
Young women, who are gorgeous, aren't always so gorgeous after babies and age take them on a trip to fat, middle-age, sagCity and wrinkle-reality. It's GOTTA be tougher for beauties to lose it than the uglies who never had it.
It will happen to the Turkish delight. Besides there are millions of beautiful women. Most men will settle for A LOT LESS for a roll in the hay. Bwaaaa!
She is DOOMED!
So the answer is to always conform to “the rules” when upstarts change them at a whim rather than via legitimate means. I see.
She’s guilty as charged. Which means she’s NOT GUILTY!
Not just ‘not guilty’, but ‘hell not guilty’!
In the cleavage?
I hope not but then again, you never can tell in this upside down world.
Things can get hairy in that part of the world.
No, you don’t see.
This looks like she was offered a better position at another station but needed to break her contract. Time will tell.
She’s always got a job at WJAK
What Would Laz Do?
I do not think; I only hit.
You obviously don’t understand the beauty of age.
I do. Lol. The old mind IS beautiful but I have yet to see any/many of either gender admiring the "beauty" of wrinkles, sagging body parts, fat body parts, old teeth, rheumy eyes or bent back. I'm not that far gone but our culture admires the aged like it admires the obese.
I do have to admit that I had previously ignored the OLD, OLD men. Now when I happen to look at them, I see them gazing at me as if I were a sweet, young, gorgeous chick. Lol.
However, I don't want to marry them because I don't want to be a "nurse" and have to watch another sick, dying husband leave this earth.
Young men aren't interested in me. I don't want to be their "purse."
Men my age don't want me. I would have to be an idiot, a stupid, narcissistic idiot not to see what age female they prefer.
Since I don't care to be a "nurse" or a "purse," as the saying goes, I won't get married again. Once was enough.
MAYBE you don't understand what the older female goes through watching these events occur in her life. And that, Rebelbase, IS life for us old broads. I've got friends, health and enough money to do what I want, so I have NO BEEF with what the Almighty has done for me. He is great and wondrous indeed.
I guess she's as naive and/or stupid as she is pretty. Too bad, the pretty will disappear FAR too soon but the naive and stupid will stay with ALL HER LIFE.
Thanks for your support of radical Islam.
It spins both ways. A lot of guys age like a pile of feces.
A decent man isn’t going to drool over a model who is young enough to be his daughter or granddaughter but can admire their beauty for what it is and leave it at that.
Yes, a lot of people write off others based on superficial reasons. A sad statement of fact and loss of a potential relationship for selfish reasoning.
Cliche but true, eye of the beholder and all that.

Sweeping generality number one: Did I say ALWAYS conform to the rules? No, you know I didn't.
This women KNEW the dress code and knew the consequences. Why slap the boss, the fans and the entire faith in the face because....just because she wanted to show off her body. She will be regarded as a prostitute, but then, she knew THAT too. She broke the rules big time and probably set back the role of women commentators 50 years!!
Oh how nice. She was TOO selfish (or stupid) to see that. And you KNOW she was warned when she showed up on the set with that outfit. She FLEW in the face of all that she was told...and now faces the consequences.
Her damage to OTHER women's careers probably never occurred to her.
Sweeping generality number two: when upstarts change them at a whim rather than via legitimate means.
She didn't change the rules; she BROKE them, at her whim. The rules on modesty are there for a reason. If you can't figure that out, then it's too late to explain it to you.
Have YOU given a single THOUGHT to the damage she did?
1. She disgraced herself, her entire family/tribe.
2. She set back HER career as a commentator forever.
3. She MIGHT be invited to start as career as a high-paid prostitute, for as long as her looks last.
4. She set back the careers of women commentators for a LONG, long time. No one HERE watches OLDER women news commentators, older men, yes, but not older women. Imagine what she's done for all the young gorgeous wannabes, screwing their brains out for a shot at a job like here...all for nothing. She screwed it up GOOD for LOTS of women...in many public fields.
You don't have to like Islam. If you hate it, you can get out of it. There are tons of Muslims and Turks in Germany, a free country. She can emigrate, go there and dress like a hooker ANY time she wants, if she wants.
No, those were not the dress code, and the consequences were the whims of the AKP rather than the law as established by Atatürk. Thanks for saying we should back down to tyrants.
Tyrants? Abiding by a dress code is tyranny?
HAHAHA! Sarah Siddons had NOTHING on you!!
I guess you would pay her JAK for all her efforts. (Bwahahaha!)
Before she works for Fox News she'll have to bleach her hair blonde and re-do the roots every three weeks, not that I know ANYTHING about that process. :o)
What dress code? There was no dress code violated; nothing in the article references a “dress code” whatsoever. The woman was attacked due to the whim of a member of the AKP and no other cause.
Those that are tearing down Atatürk’s Turkey thank you for your moral support, by using false arguments and defense of their Islamic agenda.
Men and young women probably think she's dressed just fine. But, she's not dressed. She is un-artfully undressed.
She is ARF-fully dressed.
Was that catty? SHAME on me!
