Thousands of Porn Watchers Have Names Released to Public
New York Daily News ^ | SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2013 | David Harding

The release of names is a big mistake, say some lawyers, based on the court not knowing the difference between streaming and downloading copyrighted material.

Thousands of porn watchers have had their personal details released by a German court.

Some 20,000 people who watched porn on a U.S.-based website have had their names and addresses released by a court and could end up paying a fine.

Cease and desist letters were sent to people who had accessed the smut site, Redtube.

They were traced after a German court released their personal details in a case where people were claiming videos had been uploaded onto the explicit site without permission, thus infringing copyright.

Lawyers had asked the Cologne court to order German Internet service provider Deutsche Telekom to release the names of tens of thousands of people who had watched these videos.

This, the court did.

Users face a fine of almost $350 — as well as public embarrassment.

Other lawyers argued that there was no copyright infringement because the videos had not been downloaded but "streamed".

They say forcing people to pay the fine is a sign the court has made a wrong decision, reported NBC News.

All of those asked to pay a fine are thought to live in Germany, said NBC.

It is thought many of those ordered to pay a fine will appeal to the court.

That is probably a tiny fraction. The percentage of adult men in our nation that have watched porn at some point in their lives has got to be at least 95 % or so. Laws against watching and downloading porn would make felons out of tens of millions of American men.

you got to love government. On the one hand the nazi demoralizes people by mandating feminism and then uses that against them in attempt to further divide and demoralize to submission.

This is a lesson in communist fabrication.

Ok, lemme get this straight. A German court is releasing to the public information on individuals who visited a US web site. There must be something missing in the translation.

Actually, I’m guessing he has a couple of videos on there about himself, likely titled “Something to do with the Blue Pill and Still Horny.”

Worried? Not as long as he can still get into his favorite sites: ‘Little Bent Weenies’, ‘Cigars And The Women Who Crave Them’ or ‘The Best Of Blue Dress Spooge #5’...

You can't walk outside your house anymore without breaking SOME law. And most of them are designed for one thing only. To extract money from your pocket. Pure and simple.

The money collected from the fines will be used to support the struggling pornographic industry, so it’s all good.

Apparently you did not even bother to read the article. It has nothing to do with the legality of pornography. It has to do with the government releasing the names of these customers. I take it you agree with that, since you didn't say anything.

By thee way, thanks for saying U.S. men are losers.

““Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.””

Apparently these were all paying subscribers.

It amazes me that there is still anyone who pays to watch porn. Seriously, you need Internet filters to keep your kids from accessing free porn. You could spend your whole life watching free porn. Buying porn is like Arabs buying sand.
