In a Republic, the exercise of power by the electorate is restricted to the ballot box. Outside of that, such demonstrations (if they remain peaceful / are not intended to threaten) are little more than advertising campaigns.

Given how ridiculous they have gotten and how blatantly falsifying the truth, it’s amazing that anyone at all still falls for the Leftist propaganda community organizers’ using women, Blacks, Hispanics, and far less successfully Native Americans. Native Americans have for the most part not been fooled by the lies and facades of the Left. Black Lives Matters, and it turns even the women’s movement itself have been a case of groups being useful idiots to the Marxist Leftists. The socalled “women’s movement” is today silent about everything but Trump and the fake global warming facade and does not say a peep about female genital mutilation or the treatment of women like chattel and slaves in the Muslim world.

Why is DC issuing permits for these groups on inaugural weekend?

March for Life shuts down DC one day a year. I’d guess around 350,000 people. Last year was small, maybe 200K, but there was a massive blizzard bearing down on DC. It took some folks several days to get home.
Constitution Avenue is shut down for the 1.8 mile march. Early marchers are done while the end of the line is still beginning.
I live in the Baltimore area and can pick up DC news stations on TV. If there is any coverage at all, it’s paltry, a few seconds and usually showing protesters rather than marchers. Last year, a news station did their live standup a couple hours after the event finished, showing a couple people cleaning up. FAKE NEWS
I’ll be there again this year.
