I am a Catholic, and I was raised to believe that using that phrase in a frivolous way was against the Commandment to not use the Lord’s Name in vain ( though frivolous or disrespectful use of the name Jesus is far worse). I HATE when the acronym is texted, and I save the phrase for the Act of Contrition, an essential prayer.

I meant that post in jest, but that is absolutely true and I believe it with all my heart.
However, I am guilty of occasionally violating it with a “God d*mn it,” particularly when I mess up my tv recording schedule. I alternate between Fox, OANN and Newsmax on my cell, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yes, in my heart I am a teenaged girl. LOL!
