I used Teletubbies as a teaching opportunity for my kids.
They watched a total of one episode back when it first came on during the late 1990s. That was enough to put the show on our permanent "no watch" list.
I told my kids that you could tell which Teletubby was a girl Teletubby because she was the one carrying a purse. I also told them that they must have sat around watching television all the time when they were kids because it turned them into mindless creatures that could no longer talk and that were turning into televisions themselves.
After that, we had no problem enforcing our no watch list.
