I'm fairly new here and certainly don't want to be "eaten alive", but I do enjoy listening to Sean's radio program and watching H&C on the TV....I thinks he's done alot of good since I've been tuned into the shows. I haven't agreed with 100% of what he's said over the years that I've been watching/listening (don't ask me to name the subjects, my memory isn't that good) but I do think he's a good guy to have on point for us conservitives, along with the Rush's, the Tony Snow's, the Ann Coulter's, The Mike Gallagher's, etc of the world.
Just found this site even more recently and the info that shows up here is amazing...and if the conservitive talk-show hosts and pundits are posting/lurking here as well to use in their research then that's all the better...they are able to help get the word out to an even bigger audience and I think that helps the country as a whole.

The thread has been pulled! Why? I have no idea what is going on but wanted to read it to see what the fuss is all about. I just heard Sean spank Freepers on his replay in Atlanta.
Why was it pulled?

He's just not as smart as some Freepers are (Legends in their own minds). I think Sean does a very good job. He isn't perfect and he would be the first to say so.
I wonder why at least one of the TRULY conservative, highly intelligent, champion debaters who direct harsh criticism at Sean doesn't have a radio or TV show or maybe a book that we all have at least heard about.
Keep up the good work Sean.

Was the 800+ thread pulled because it proved Seans point?
Frankly the thread was a complete embarrassment to FR.

Well the damage is done. Now coming on the Election year activist freepers can not count on Sean and his friends ( who are many) in the media to promote our activism.
He was a great help to us in prior elections and frankly I doubt he will help us in any organizational way whatsoever again.

You really can't blame him considering how hateful some freepers are toward Sean. Yes, some here just hate it that someone with a successful conservative radio show sticks to his conservative principles and is not affected by the incessant GOP, cheerleading, personality cult, groupthink.
How dare that guy!
To: alisasny
You know, I'm not going to name names, but there are a few freepers who seem to make a hobby of bashing certain conservative radio hosts. Specifically Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Mark Levin. If there's a live thread about something happening on one of the shows, there they are. If another poster on an unrelated thread mentions one of their names in passing, there they are. And it's the same "bash" every single time. By now I can recite their posts from memory.
And despite their claims that they find the above-mentioned hosts so annoying and unsatisfactory, they sure seem to LISTEN to their shows a lot more than I do (and I'm a fan of all three). They know when there's a guest host, they know when the call screener leaves to go work for someone else, they know who was interviewed and have a long list of how the host "blew it", they know who calls in and is "treated rudely"---how on earth could they have such a litany of complaints unless they're by the radio every day HANGING ON EVERY WORD?? Why don't they listen to some friggin' music instead of constantly criticizing people who are on our side?
Hell, I wish *I* had the time to listen to Sean and Rush and Mark as much as their FR detractors apparently do. Especially Mark Levin. I love the guy but his show comes on at the least convenient time possible for me.
To: alisasny; cyborg; NYC GOP Chick; hellinahandcart
Alisasny, you have hit it right on the nose. Our successful rally on March 23, 2003, was due in large part to our good friends on the radio. No other way to publicize as well.

"Is he hawking his book again?!" or some variation of the sort...fact is, there are many BushBackers who don't believe any RightWinger has the right to question Dubyuh's judgement on any issue. Funny thing is, I don't believe Bush himself even believes that...I suspect he enjoys the company of folks who question his wisdom on this issue at that. I didn't hear that part of Hannity but it seems to me that problems like Freepers "eating their young" can be taken care of with aggressive moderation. It's hard to find time to weed out all the wacko's in a place as big as this, though. From the parts I see Free Republic is as great as it ever was, in my opinion. You're always going to get some weird posts. I'm sure some people consider mine weird!
Here's a weird thing about Hannity I wonder about. It all starts back in the Clinton days. I wanted Congress to impeach Clinton for Treason, Rape, Filegate and Travelgate. But Newt Gingrich refused to allow the Treason and Rape charges to be brought up in Judiciary Committee Hearings. And I know many others were writing and requesting this. Mind you, this is not the actual impeachment, just the Judiciary Committee hearings. Why would Newt do this, I wondered?
Larry Flynt claimed that he was blackmailing members of Congress who were having affairs so they better shut up! But no, that could not be it, I thought. Finally, Newt Gingrich inexplicately resigned. Later we found out he was having an affair with a young staffer! Was he being blackmailed? The next House Speaker, Livingston, also refused Treason and Rape charges, also crashed and burned due to many affairs. Was he also being blackmailed? What about Dennis Hastert? Why did all three Speakers refuse to allow Treason and Rape charges to be explored in the Judiciary Committee Hearings? That is what I would like Sean Hannity to ask Newt Gingrich, Livingston or Dennis Hastert when any of them are on the show.
Maybe Hannity already asked and I didn't happen to hear it, though. Anyone know?

Maybe Sean just had a bad day and one of the Freepers post hit him the wrong way. I am new here, but it seems to me most posters hold Hannity in high regard.
Who knows, maybe there are moles from the DU that are undermining the FReeper site just to keep radio talk hosts from talking about the strength in numbers that this site seems to have. Not to mention the Commitment to reelect GWB.
In due course, I am sure we will all get over it!
Our common goals to reelect GWB are too important to the future of our Country. United we stand, divided the Country to goes to hell in a hand basket.

*You know, I'm not going to name names, but there are a few freepers who seem to make a hobby of bashing certain conservative radio hosts*
Yep, I witnessed it just yesterday in a thread. And they get pretty defensive about it whenever anyone calls them on it, too. What cracks me up is what you mentioned, having nothing but scorn for Rush, Sean, or Levin yet spending the *hours* and *hours* many of them obviously do listening to every word they say. I wouldn't waste five minutes with a radio host I didn't like, but they can cite chapter and verse from practically every show ever aired. Odd, to say the least.

Yeah, I caught a few minutes of the thread but didn't jump on. Reality is that FR is no place for the thin-skinned. I've been chewed up and spit out a few times but its part of the territory. I don't know much about the "good ol days" when it was a small group of Clinton slayers but I like to think that I'm a part of that somehow.
Sean is all right. I look forward to his radio show and stream it in sometimes and even try to tune it in after hours to get the delayed feed. Hope he keeps it up.

I'm no talk show host or anything but I'VE PROBABLY BEEN FLAMED MORE THAN SEAN HANNITY here at Free Republic. If it's really bad, I hit the abuse button. Otherwise, I WEAR em down or ignore them. Now I'm glad I haven't purchased any of his books. He's too sensitive but he can dish it out.
There were over 600 threads dedicated to Terri Schindler-Schiavo who they were going to starve to death in October of 2003. There were over 80K posts and we're still trying to help Terri at www.terrisfight.org.
Sean Hannity needs to know that we are not even working on GOP campaigns because we're still helping Terri. The GOP isn't helping her and she's in dire straits again. Why doesn't Sean do a show about Terri again? HE NEEDS TO DO AN UPDATE on this very special Floridian while there's still TIME. She was not saved in the fall. They're about to try to starve her again!

Guess Sean is thin of skin if he can't take some flames. I think he engages in a lot of self promotion as opposed to Rush's show content but Sean's younger with small kids and let's face it - Sean's supposed to prosper in a capitalist society but when he's shilling his books, it's boring to me ESPECIALLY if he's going to insult over 100K people in one swipe.

Didn't know anything about this feud until I saw the poll and went searching for a thread to find out what it was all about. Must have been serious bashing and thrashing going on in that 800+ post thread that got pulled!! Seriously, we don't need to divide our conservative resources at this critical time in our nation's history. I listen to Sean when I'm away from the office (Lubbock a.m. station to faint to receive in an office with flickering fluorescent lights), and agree with him most of the time, though he does tend to monopolize caller conversations. That's way different than "hating" him; must have been a few of the more rowdy types that got him all riled up.

A middle school bus stop and an INTERNET website are exactly equivalent in the level of civility. Once you get past that and determine that the general consensus of a site isn't always set by the most prolific posters, you can begin to appreciate it.
Sean is a busy guy appearing in three media markets: TV, radio and print. Getting the real sense of what the mood is here isn't easily done in a ten minute visit four times a week.
If you are mentioned here, you are having an impact, even if half the comments are negative.
Good luck to him in his commentary efforts and good luck to us in our discussions of news article, research and activism.

I wondered why that thread was pulled, too. Yes, some people moaned about Sean because they are so much smarter than he is and they have so much better books out to read, but lots of us who love Hannity also posted.
I don't think JR would ban frank discussion about Sean, yea or nay.
There was also some talk about a woman who left FR and badmouthed it to Sean, and he on the air admitted that he had heard bad things about FR from this woman, or something roughly like that. Maybe the thread was pulled because of reference to this one woman? I still don't get it.
