Kerry Campaign Mocks Southern Accents in Press Release! ("Speeutbawlls?")

The Caged Hamster went rabid

Disloyalty is a wonderful trait of the ordinary. -- Lucy Butler

John Kerry, in a response to the RNC, released 143 "Lies, Mischaracterizations, Distortions, And Half-Truths" sold in the convention. At attempt to fisk an entire four-day convention's speeches doesn't come easy, and the Kerry campaign fails in style by producing not one line of rebuttal towards the quotes that they lifted.

In trademark, childish fashion reminiscent of his midnight rally, John Kerry shows exactly how his campaign rebuts "lies, mischaracterizations, distortions, and half-truths:"

106. Miller: “…Against the Trident missile, against, against, against. This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces? U.S. forces armed with what? Speeutbawlls?”[Miller Remarks, 9/1/04]

It's S-P-I-T-B-A-L-L-S, but you knew that. You just wanted to take a shot at a man with a Southern accent, proving once again that the target of a Democrat rebuttal is the person, and not the message.

James Joyner and Powerline note that he' got an even bigger problem. The Kerry campaign called Sen. McCain -- the closest thing he has to an ally among Republicans -- a liar.

If this is what generally happens to caged hamsters I'll personally lobby for the ban of hamsters in the pet trade. They should be released immediately and allowed to run free in the fields and meadows, where they can do the Hamster Dance with reckless abandon. Maybe then they can pick up some common sense and recognize who their friends are.

UPDATE: Here's a screenshot of the anti-Southern bigotry that I quoted. Just in case.

UPDATE II: I KNEW IT! They disappeared the laundry list! I should have furled everything, but then again, all one needs do is peruse the transcripts. Captain Ed comments (HT: Mudville Gazette).

UPDATE III: Okay, it's up again. How does the saying go? Give someone enough rope...

When we moved to MA for an AF Industry assignment, my oldest daughter was in 3rd grade and on a spelling test the teacher said "idears" and she spelled it "I deers" and the teacher couldn't figure out what she was spelling.

Rats are just stupid, period. As soon as they questioned Miller's "loyalty" they proved his point.

You aint kiddin. It looks like Kerry's people have already taken down the press release with the "speeutbawls" line (either that or the link is wrong). If it comes back up, it'll be interesting to see if it's been cleaned up.

Whoops -- somehow I missed your #9.

Someone in the Kerry camp must have realized their little dig might not come off well in the South. Now the question is: do they put up a sanitized version or do they leave it down?

Good Heavens. I've seen smarter, better run campaigns for our local school board. This surely must be the most inept collections of tone deaf, sophmoric losers in history. I'm predicting Mama Purse strings will soon break away from her handlers and pitch a public mega hissy.
