Right...and Russias non-support protected it from Terrorist Attack. That's some real logic there. If I were his teacher I would give him an 'F' and make him rewrite that one.

They'll go against anything soft.

Seditious, unbelievable, and unnecessary: Australians won't be voting in the upcoming election!

Bear in mind that this is the same idiotic John Kerry who told us that the threat of terrorism is (and I quote) "exaggerated"!

Was Cheney On Target? You Decide

Captain Ed is outraged, as well he should be. What I want to know is where is the outrage of the press? When Kerry claimed that Cheney had said the US would be more in danger of a terrorist attack if Kerry was elected (here's how CNN reported it), there was universal outrage (of course this was not what Cheney said, but everyone acted as if it were).

Now John Kerry's sister, Diana, has said that Australia is more in danger of a terrorist attack because of its connections with the United States and the Bush Administration. Not only is this far more outrageous and more damaging than anything Cheney meant--Kerry's position borders on treason; and it has the added effect --as the Captain points out--of interfering with an important US alliance during wartime; as well as attempting to influence the Australian election.

You don't have to be paranoid to understand this is yet more evidence of John Kerry's complete disregard for the interests of his country in an attempt to garner power for himself. The Kerry campaign doesn't care if it destabilizes democratic governments like Australia- let alone the United States. OBL's most clever plans couldn't be any better than what Kerry and Friends are already doing.

Cheney was right, in that there is certainly a CLEAR choice between Bush and Kerry on the way they view the War on Terror.... Posted by Hello One views it as a serious threat to freedom, peace and civilization; the other views it as a tool to be used to achieve the power he has craved his entire life. You decide which view we are safer embracing.

UPDATE: Reader Dismuke at Captain's Quarters says, "Gee - why bomb trains prior to an election when you have the Kerry campaign out there trying to accomplish the exact same thing?" Great point.

Hi Dr. Sanity,

I enjoy your blog, which I discovered via LittleGreenFootballs. I was wondering why your blog calls me "Richard." I'm in the process of buying a new computer, and want to preserve my anonymity (not that I'm "Richard"). I'd appreciate an answer so I can keep bloggers from knowing who I am. You're a benign blogger, but I also check some rather disgusting Islamofascist sites, and I don't want them to know who I am.

Thanks for your input.

Jakita--all I can think of is that if you have a blog on blogspot it can identify you. I am not aware that it can identify anyone unless they also have a blog or are registered on blogspot. You can sign in as anonymous if you like. Email me and let me know exactly where the "richard" is showing up. My guess is that when you go to post a comment it says "Posting as _Anonymous _ Richard? Is that correct?

True, but I suspect this mostly aimed at the Australian election in three weeks. If Kerry becomes President of the United States, he's going to find it much easier to deal with a Latham government here, than a Howard government. The Howard government is not impressed with our troops being labelled as window dressing, or with Kerry's apparent belief that allies that have refused to support the US, are somehow better allies than those who have stood with the US.

Nah, they're busy looking into Bush's TANG service.

If they were really fair they be screaming for Kerry's:
1. Medical records(not released) He is being treated for cancer BTW.
2. Income tax records, not released
3. Unreleased military records, 100 pages according to the Wash Post.

The MSM is BLATANTLY PARTISAN period.

Kerry understands we're at war. He just doesn't give a damn what his idiotic statements do to our war efforts. His mouth offers more support and echouragement to our Islamic terrorist enemy than anything OBL could say.

Unfortunately that's not true. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's desperate so anything goes.

From Drudgereport.com (The Australian)
US 'endangers Australians'
Roy Eccleston, Washington correspondent
September 18, 2004

JOHN Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.

Diana Kerry, younger sister of the Democrat presidential candidate, told The Weekend Australian that the Bali bombing and the recent attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta clearly showed the danger to Australians had increased.

"Australia has kept faith with the US and we are endangering the Australians now by this wanton disregard for international law and multilateral channels," she said, referring to the invasion of Iraq.

Asked if she believed the terrorist threat to Australians was now greater because of the support for Republican George W. Bush, Ms Kerry said: "The most recent attack was on the Australian embassy in Jakarta -- I would have to say that."

Ms Kerry, who taught school in Indonesia for 15 years until 2000, is heading a campaign called Americans Overseas for Kerry which aims to secure the votes of Americans abroad -- including the more than 100,000 living in Australia.

In the 2000 election, analysts say absentee votes cast overseas tipped the balance to Mr Bush in the decisive state of Florida. Domestic votes put Mr Gore ahead by a few hundred votes, but Mr Bush won by 537 after overseas ballots were included.

In this election, which is decided according to the states won, the Kerry campaign says overseas votes could also determine the result given there are a dozen states where victory might be measured by a few hundred to a few thousand votes. About 5million American voters live overseas and interest in this election was high, Ms Kerry said. About 350,000 absentee ballots were distributed in 2000, but more than a million had been sought this time.

"My belief is US citizens living overseas are very concerned about the current direction of the US, particularly in regard to international affairs," she claimed. "They are on the front lines of the decline of US respect and reputation; they hear it and feel it on a daily basis."

A poll by the Washington-based Pew Centre for People and the Press found that in March this year only 58 per cent of Britons, 37 per cent of French and 38 per cent of Germans had favourable opinions of America, down by more than 20 percentage points in each country from before the Iraq war.

Quizzed on US opinion polls that showed Senator Kerry's campaign flagged through August and that he was now running behind Mr Bush, Ms Kerry said her brother would win the November 2 election.

"He responds well to challenges and has the reputation of fighting well from behind," she said.
