"The wound had become severely infected...Reeve was admitted to Northern Westchester Hospital on Saturday evening and never regained consciousness," the statement said on Monday.
Reeve has been confined to a wheelchair after suffering multiple injuries, including two shattered neck vertebrae, when he was thrown from his horse at an equestrian event in 1995.
He said in a statement Reeve went into a coma on Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home during treatment for a pressure wound.

Maybe John Kerry thought he nominated Jonathan Edwards as his VP. Jonathan channels from the other side.
Kerry gets confused easily. Sometimes he even seems to think he is Bob KerrEy--who cast the deciding vote for Bill Clinton's 1993 Jobs Bill (John and staff have claimed John cast that vote) and who was Vice-Chair of the Senate Intel Committee (John and staff have claimed John was Vice-Chair).
Remember, for 35 years and over 50 retellings, John Kerry thought he spent Christmas in Cambodia on a secret mission for the CIA under direction of President Nixon, even before Nixon was sworn in as President.
Kerry is rapidly morphing into Forrest Gump with his being at or involved in so many historical events. He was at the signing of the armistice to end the first Gulf War, you know, even though he voted against that War.
Next, Kerry will be claiming he, too, talks to Jimmy Stewart's Harvey. He might even claim he was, too was chased by Jimmy Carter's vicious killer rabbit.

sKerry will just say he meant the Saturday before and all will be forgiven. He can't do it. Reeves supposed message was in response to Kerry's performance in Fridays debate. Unless somehow Reeves called a week in advance to comment on something he saw happen in the future.

Even if he did go into the coma on Saturday after suffering a heart attack I am guessing that calling John Kerry on Saturday was not a priority. Sounds like he was in pretty bad shape. Sad.
