Moving On From the MoveOn Era

Four more years. Love him or hate him, President Bush now has a second term in office. Voter turnout hit record highs, giving Bush and Sen. John Kerry the first- and second- highest vote totals ever in an election. Instead of pulling an Al Gore and contesting the vote in Ohio, Kerry showed an impressive amount of class by conceding the race and joining Bush in a call for unity. Although both sides cannot win in a campaign, each has plenty to be proud of. Now that 527 groups (such as MoveOn and the Swift Boat Vets) have gone silent, the loud protests in the street have (almost) disappeared, and a very ugly presidential race has ended, I have some advice to give to voters on every side of the ticket.

To Republicans: Your man won. If you aren't nearly stupid with joy, you should be; however, don't gloat about it to your pro-Kerry friends. How would you have liked it if Kerry had won and all they did was get on your case about backing Bush? Well, you shouldn't do the same to them. Take simple comfort in knowing that musicians are off the campaign trail, Rolling Stone will be covering music again, and "Fahrenheit 9/11" has no chance of winning Best Picture at the Oscars. Bush isn't going anywhere until January of 2009, and Tom Daschle is no longer a senator. Michael Moore's relevance is up for sale on Ebay. For you, life is good.

Yes, it was for a time, till eBay pulled it. The same seller was offering Bruce Springsteen's ego as well.

Of course, on eBay you can sell nearly anything, no matter how worthless.

did anyone buy his ego? I bet you'd need a dumptruck to bring it home.

eBay pulled that auction, too. Moore and Springsteen fans were placing high bids, trying to make the seller pay high eBay fees. I wish I'd saved the questions to the seller for the auctions, as well as his answers. Most of them were hilarious.

Just from memory, not word for word....
Q. (100 words or so of anti-Bush paranoia)
A. I'm sorry, there's something wrong with my computer; all I can see is blah, blah, blah, blah. Bid early and often.
Q. Go xxxxx yourself.
A. I think Kerry and Moore already did.

Isn't is nice how they are saying that Kerry graciously allowed Bush to win? LOL. The ONLY reason they didn't challenge, and they even said this, is because it was a losing proposition! He couldn't win!

I did copy the eBayers who bid high (some in the thousands of dollars) to jack up the seller's fees...I consider them eBay abusers.

They claimed that a ghost lived in the can. I believe that it was half-drunk. It was pulled pretty quickly.

Also, we must all work diligently in the coming months to convince “progressives” that the Democratic Party has let them down. They must abandon the party. Their only recourse is to join and work for the Green Party moving forward. I may even register as a Green Party member to swell their voter registration rolls. Divide and conquer.

Begin with putting all known “progressives” in your sphere of influence on the Green Party mail list from their website. Great fun. Start inundating them with information now.
