That's what I want to know. Their featured advertisement today reads "Secrets Of Millionaire Conservatives Revealed", so I decided to take a peek out of curiosity. It turns out to be Mike Litman promoting some new book that claims to change lazy procrastinators into overnight (or 30-day) successes by giving them the "secrets" of the rich. Notable quotables:
"just reading of the table of contents would be enough to shake the laziest person alive from their deepest slumber."
"Look, no one knows more than me that some people hate to read. I hear you. So what Ive done is give you my personal study guide to The Power of Concentration."
"Youll get 3 powerful Mp3s from me ... to change your life."
"I dont care if your teachers told your parents you were as dumb as an ox, youll know what to do."
"Im also going to include a free mystery CD that will excite and inspire you..."

Excerpt ...
"$91,197 in 61 Days!"
Last year in our part time business we made $31,977. In just the last 61 days working with Mike Litmans coaching system weve brought in over $91,197. Mike Litman has changed our life incredibly and hell change yours as well! He has our highest recommendation!"
"Lou Castillo and Joe Brilliante, Buford, Georgia"
====================================================
What can I say ... except Joe Brilliante is aptly named.

Ho Hum. Here's the secrets of the rich:
Work your arse off.
Spend less than you earn.
Be willing to take risk with the leftovers.

Who's reading TownHall.com? Nobody.
Free Republic is the place to be.
The only time we ever go to TownHall.com is if someone links an article from it on Free Republic.
That's it.

Townhall is among the sites I check each day. . .

Who has time?
Anything there worth reading ends up on Free Republic.
If it's not on FR - it probably wasn't worth posting.

TownHall was advertising this guy's book on their web site. It just seems odd for them to advertise such an obvious scam.

When you read paid adverts you should expect some hype.
This one sounds like an infomercial on late night tv.

But then, you really are brilliant!
Others have used words like "unintellectual", "held back", "doltish", "oh ye of little hope" and "frightening"......."brilliant" is flattering almost to the point of making me feel guilty or dirty.
Then again, who am I to question your highly regarded talent for calling it like it really is? Brilliant it is! :o)

This reminds me of the scam regarding "A Great Money Making Plan"
This was the scheme where you would run an ad in as many Big City Newspapers as you could afford, asking people to send you a SASE with $2.00, and you would send them the secret plan to make them rich.
As it turned out, that was the plan. Getting people to send you $2.00. My brother inlaw got hooked into that one. I never realized he was soooo easy. Poor guy

I agree. I only check Drudge out of habit. I know anything important will be on FR, so eventually I'll even stop checking Drudge. I still get TH.com's columns by email, but usually delete them because I know they will be on FR. FR RULES!!!!!!!

That's about it. Learn that money is a tool that you must learn to use to make more money. Anyone can become rich, even if they work at Macdonalds. Once you begin generating a cash flow from your working money, turning it into a steam is easy.

That's about it. Learn that money is a tool that you must learn to use to make more money. Anyone can become rich, even if they work at Macdonalds. Once you begin generating a cash flow from your working money, turning it into a steam is easy.
The guy that started Domino's Pizza worked like a dog and saved up $4,000 to open his first restaurant - and has never looked back.
Tropicana was founded by a guy that picked fruit for a living. He saved his money, bought his own field, began shipping jars of fruit slices up north, eventually discovered that concentrated orange juice was possible, and off he went. The Coca Cola (I think) Company made him a millionaire hundreds of times over when they bought his company.
There's countless stories like this. From Wal-Mart to JC Penny (he went bankrupt several times in the beginning) to the guy that started "The Dollar Store". The people that lie around and bitch about how underprivileged they are and how bad they have it speak their own self fulfilling prophecies. Anyone can do it. Just make a plan and go.
