Liberals, less is more!

After spending Christmas Day in a liberal home I can report that this was not a happy holiday for liberals. There was at least one thing to celebrate, though: the courage of San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom in standing up to the bigots and allowing people to do what comes naturally: fall in love and get married.

Otherwise things did not look too good to my liberal neighbors. They saw hate everywhere they turned; one woman admitted to waking up most days and wanting to cry. How could Americans elect a president like George W. Bush? It just didn’t make sense. After all that liberals had done for America, from common schools to labor laws to health care to civil rights, how could they?

Exactly. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Liberals have “done” a lot for America, there’s no doubt of that. Maybe, here and there, they’ve even done a bit too much. Let’s take education, for starters.

Mainstream American Churches have become the problem, not the solution. I left the Methodists over 40 years ago, because They were about building field hospitals for the Viet Cong, and helping found the anti Second Amendment movement. Let Me edit that, They left Me!
The day that I was sitting in a pew, in Grace Methodist Church, in St. Augustine, Florida, and the Preacher actually asked for donations in support of the VC, and the national coalition to ban handguns, I just stood up and walked out, all by My lonesome! Anyone that stayed is suspect to Me, sorry about that!
I was there, I heard what was said, and I remember. I am not so senile yet as to remember wrong!
I am not convinced, at this time, that there is any organized religion that Jesus is pleased with, so I just keep it personal, and do My best.

I share your disgust with most mainstream churches, and also left the Methodist some time ago. I'm a "Nazarene" as it is today.

Yes, believing everyone is equal and deserves equal rights is liberal. I guess you want less of that. So we should take away people's rights? Lets start with yours. Bet you'd be liberal real quick.

Yes it is very liberal. There are many in this country that DO NOT DESERVE EQUAL RIGHTS because they are not citizens of this country. Only a liberal like yourself would think otherwise. No thanks.

Then why does Bush want to give them driver's licenses? He seems to have no problem with them living here, working here. Hell, let's just make them all citizens then.

One of Bush's very bad mistakes. His position on this is very difficult to believe. It should not be. It is WRONG! ... and illegals SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED WITH INSTANT CITIZENSHIP. This sends a very bad message that in the U.S., laws may be broken without consequence, our borders can be violated without consequence, citizenship MEANS NOTHING, the LEGAL efforts of those who have applied for citizenship are for nothing, and our borders mean nothing....THIS SITUATION IS VERY BAD!!! and it wreaks of vote-getting politics being again placed ahead of what is good for America, its laws, its citizens and its borders.
