The True Face of the Democratic Party (A DUer is finally honest)

Posted on 01/30/2005 12:00:38 PM PST by Bones75

Saw this post over at the DUmpster..

Looks like one of the DUmmies actually let the truth slip out. Soak this up people, because this is the true face of the left and of the Democratic party today:

"The Iraq vote is making me sick this morning

All the media keeps talking about is how happy the Iraqis are, how high turnout was, and how "freedom" has spread to Iraq. I had to turn off CNN because they kept focusing on the so-called "voters" and barely mentioned the resistance movements at all. Where are the freedom fighters today? Are their voices silenced because some American puppets cast a few ballots?

I can't believe the Iraqis are buying into this "democracy" bullshit. They have to know that the Americans don't want them to have power, because they know that Bush is in this for the oil, and now that he finally has it he's not going to let it go. This election is a charade. The fact is that the Iraqis have suffered during the past two years more than any people on earth at the hands of the American gestapo. Maybe they're afraid and felt they had to vote. That's the only way I can explain it to myself.

OR--I just thought of this--maybe they're smiling because they're using the Americans own game to defeat them. They're voting in candidates who they know will widen the resistance, take the fight to the streets, and finally drive the occupying forces out of their country. Perhaps they're smiling because--right under the American's noses--they're planting the seeds of a bigger and more effective resistance movement. Wouldn't that be fitting? Use *'s own tools against them?

We can only pray that this is the case. Becuase if it's not--and if the Iraq vote is seen as a success that spread "freedom"--the world is screwed. Bush's inaugural speech left little doubt that he has other countries on his list to spread "freedom" to. They will be his next targets, and the world will burn because of it.

Let's hope the resistance got voted in, or if not, they only increase the fight and take down those who betrayed their country today by voting in this fraud election. "

When you hear the words of Boxer, Ted Kennedy, and their ilk, you read the posts at DU, it all comes down to that passage. This person actually said it, but how many feel this way and won't admit it? If it's a duck, it probably quacks.

The Dems should just drop the charade and make this post their mission statement. The sad thing about it is that, even if that is a troll trying to make them look bad, it describes them perfectly.

The Iraqis defied not only abu Al Zarquai, but they defied all the pessimists, the Chiracists, the Shroederites, the Teddy "Just run away like I did Mary to Jo" Kennedyists, and the nutty defeatists who swear the Sunnis want civil war. No wonder this DUer is so upset. Now, we shall see if the Euro supporters of Saddam will show the same support for the Iraqi people as they ones showed for a dictator. Now, we will see if the KKK of Iraq, these fascist criminal scum who cut off prisoner's heads, bomb schools, churches, and mosques, will earn any even verbal disrespect from the sophisticated smart set. Will the "insurgents" still have cheerleaders in the media?

Indeed. The "freedom fighters" voted and dipped their fingers into the blue ink of self-determination.

An Iraqi who did vote and who has a blog wrote this:

We had all kinds of feelings in our minds while we were on our way to the ballot box except one feeling that never came to us, that was fear.

We could smell pride in the atmosphere this morning; everyone we saw was holding up his blue tipped finger with broad smiles on the faces while walking out of the center.

I couldn't think of a scene more beautiful than that. From the early hours of the morning, People filled the street to the voting center in my neighborhood; youths, elders, women and men. Women's turn out was higher by the way. And by 11 am the boxes where I live were almost full! Anyone watching that scene cannot but have tears of happiness, hope, pride and triumph.

The sounds of explosions and gunfire were clearly heard, some were far away but some were close enough to make the windows of the center shake but no one seemed to care about them as if the people weren't hearing these sounds at all. I saw an old woman that I thought would get startled by the loud sound of a close explosion but she didn't seem to care, instead she was busy verifying her voting station's location as she found out that her name wasn't listed in this center.

How can I describe it!? Take my eyes and look through them my friends, you have supported the day of Iraq's freedom and today, Iraqis have proven that they're not going to disappoint their country or their friends.

Is there a bigger victory than this? I believe not.

A. What does 'ping' mean?

B. What is MSM?

If anyone could answer these questions for me, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you.

A ping is a method of calling other members to a thread that may or may not interest them. For example, I am on the political cartoon ping list. When someone sees an article that has political cartoons, they "ping me" to it. If someone pings you, you'll see it in the red "new posts to you" button in the upper right hand part of your screen. You should see one now, as I replied to your post, thereby "pinging" you back to it.

MSM is just short for mainstream media... the usual broadcast outfits and print journals, mostly. For example, CBS, Time Magazine, and the New York Times are considered mainstream media. Little Green Footballs and Matt Drudge are not.

Hope that helps.

If they got voted in, then they're not the resistance anymore, are they?

Thanks for this post becasue it shows the total illogic and american hatred of the loonie left. If the author believes his own premise it doesn't matter who gets elected becasue is all a sham anyway. Thematic integrity is the antithesis of leftist thought.

MSM--mainstream media

Ping used to mean drawing particular inhabitants' attn to a particular item on the board. Now it also seems to mean whatever is posted to you, and whatever you post to. I use "bump" to try to emphasize a thread (lest it get low-bottomized too quickly), and also to "mark" (bumpmark) it for later perusal. The bumped post appears in your "ping" file and makes it easier to locate later.

This is the same sort of whacky psychosis that sustained their "I Belive" threads from Nov. 3 to Jan. 20.

Note that the Democratic Underground despises the notion of democracy in Iraq.

What does 'ping' mean?

Packet InterNet Groper:

Networking, tool: (ping, originally contrived to match submariners' term for the sound of a returned sonar pulse) A program written in 1983 by Mike Muuss (who also wrote TTCP) used to test reachability of destinations by sending them one, or repeated, ICMP echo requests and waiting for replies. Since ping works at the IP level its server-side is often implemented entirely within the operating system kernel and is thus the lowest level test of whether a remote host is alive. Ping will often respond even when higher level, TCP-based services cannot.

Sadly, Mike Muuss was killed in a road accident on 2000-11-20.

The term is also used as a verb: "Ping host X to see if it is up."

The Unix command "ping" can be used to do this and to measure round-trip delays.

The funniest use of "ping" was described in January 1991 by Steve Hayman on the Usenet group comp.sys.next. He was trying to isolate a faulty cable segment on a TCP/IP Ethernet hooked up to a NeXT machine. Using the sound recording feature on the NeXT, he wrote a script that repeatedly invoked ping, listened for an echo, and played back the recording on each returned packet. This caused the machine to repeat, over and over, "Ping ... ping ... ping ..." as long as the network was up. He turned the volume to maximum, ferreted through the building with one ear cocked, and found a faulty tee connector in no time.

The term is used here in FR to mean alerting other members to the existence of an interesting discussion.

This is so pathetic I can barely even believe the writer posted it. Does this person realize what he is hoping/wishing for?

Saying that the Iraq'i people have endured more than any people on the planet-- 'um, tell that to the Jews in Nazi, germany, or, for that matter, Germany itself, under Hitler.

Hoping that the "freedom fighters"(meaning terrorists) will be STENGTHENED, to fight the "occupying forces, and drive them out"(meaning the US and allied forces and friendly Iraqi's)?, This guy is HOPING for MASS MURDERS of Americans, and Allies, so his side can see a political victory.

"Feel they had to vote, out of fear?" NO, they were told, by those great"freedom fighters", that if they DID vote, there would be consequences.

The REAL thruth is, that the DUmmies want to see Iraq forever under the thumb of tyrrany, and the rest of the middle East the same way-- heck, they probably wouldn't mind the US to be that way-- as long as THEY were exempt from the kind of reues they would impose on the "workng classes" .

And this is what us considered the "elite" in this country. If I had it my way, this man(and others that speak of this kind of tripe ) would get to see for themselves, what kind of "loving people" those "freedom fighters" were-- they should be shipped over to Iraq, and see if the "freedom fighters" would accept them.

I also cruised over there.

There are (of course)a couple of DU'ers saying such has already been mentioned. But there are also a couple who are trying to be a voice of reason. Some of them are warning against saying such nonsense out loud becayse it sounds like we might be right when we say that leftists want bad things to happen simply because it harms Bush.

A couple have also made reference to losing more elections unless they stop with the outrageous stuff.
