March 6th marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Manhattan town house explosion that killed radical activists Diana Oughton, Ted Gold and Terry Robbins. Oughton, Gold and Robbins were all members of the Weather Underground, a radical offshoot of Students for a Democratic Society, but their revolutionary zeal exceeded their expertise in bomb-making.

Had they successfully assembled and transported their bomb instead of blowing themselves up, many more people would be dead. The bomb was intended for a soldiers’ dance at Fort Dix, in New Jersey. The late Diana and her friends wanted to murder soldiers and their dates to express their opposition to the Vietnam War

The Weather Underground thugs blew themselves up 35 years ago today. Their list of victims is long. By the way, why does DU call itself 'underground'? They are all a bunch of leftist thugs.

My only regret is that they died instantly, rather than lingering.

My only regret is that Davis and Hayden weren't with them; along with all the other former SDS and Weathermen who are now professors and busy indoctrinating our children.

I suspect that the chimpanzee mauling the other day was the beginning or a new round of attacks by the SLA (Simian Liberation Army)

If only all terrorists were so considerate of others-or as inept at bomb making-which ever.

This is extremely series, considering these perps are so much more intelligent than the members of the original organization that used those initials.

Do Davis, Hayden, et al, belatedly understand the blessing of democracy and the rule of law we enjoy, courtesy of the government they loathed?

I object to the phrase, "...courtesy of the government they loathed?"

The government is not a person. It cannot loath or be loathed. Only people can do that. Just the 99.99% of the other people the loser terrorists lived amongst. They restrained themselves.
Had the Davises and the Haydens persisted and continued their program of random murder, eventually the silent majority would have fought back, in the same unconventional way.

That Hayden, Fonda and Davis are still alive at all, is a puzzling contradiction. If there was justice in the universe...
