Ratzinger wrote to McCarrick stating the Church's position. McCarrick "summarized" it in a letter to the American bishops to say that bishops should handle the issue as they saw fit. You might say it lost a bit in the translation!

Thanks AGAIN!

Your pings are the FIRST thing I look for each morning...
Such a wonderful way to start the day, listening to the shrieking of DU DAs in the morning....

It's even better than the smell of Napalm in the morning...

The only downer- is recognition that these demented bastards - VOTE!

And where were these DUmmies when this story came out during the campaign?? This is OLD news, they must have very short memories!

And one more time, Doctrine is doctrine, Catholic is Catholic, if you pick and choose which doctrine to follow, you are not practicing catholicism. You will not be allowed the Eucharist. It's not rocket science. Doctrine IS NOT open to negotiation, and the church is not going to hear your whining!! (Except of course for the Angel that gets its wings every time you do!)

American Catholics are 6% of worldwide Catholicism. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my impression that 3rd World Catholics are much more conservative on the whole than US Catholics.

But DUmmies are the center of the universe, aren't they?

I'm very confused...First, I'm not Catholic, But if a person is and doesn't like what the Pope(church) stands for, why be a catholic??

Because they want the Church to approve of their depravity. They know the Church is a moral authority, and to leave it would be to admit that they are immoral. Can't have that.

"Can you walk up to a doctor and ask to have a limb removed for no good reason?"

Believe it or not (& I hope you're not eating while reading this) there are amputee fetishists. And I bet you $ to donuts the ACLU will defend their right to mutilate themselves.

What a bunch of MORONS these losers are! They are just so ridiculous!

TRUE Catholics (rather than those who are CINO's - or CWC- "Catholic when convenient" - such as Senator Kerry), who accept and believe in the teachings of the Church - which comes directly from the teachings of Christ, btw, are not pro-abortion and are not pre-gay-marriage etc., etc...

The new Pope was doing his JOB. His job was to make sure that the strict teachings of the church were adhered to and followed. Allowing those who openly and loudly speak against the teachings and moral authority of the Church to partake of the Holy Communion is unacceptable. To do so would diminish the moral authority of the Church.

DUmmies are just outright stupid. How do they live without a brain???

I'd like to hear more about your adolescent moral courage in Hitler's Germany.

Could Cuban Liberal be a LOUSY FREEPER TROLL, by any chance?

Benedict XVI is a despicable, and he has directly intervened in American politics.

No he hasn't, there's this little thing you DUmmies like to make constant note of called "separation of church and state"

The sacrament of Communion had absolutely nothing to do with American politics. If Jean-Fraud Kerry can't reconcile his liberal/socialist politics with his alledged Catholicsm, that's not the church's fault.

Can you walk up to a doctor and ask to have a limb removed for no good reason? He'd refuse, rightfully so, and if he didn't, he would get his license revoked.

Got some bad news for you. Google "voluntary amputations" and see what you find. Warning: Every site I pulled up had really gross pictures, so I'm not posting any links.

Don't Forget Our Own Senator Byrd Who was once never officially resigned his position as a Klansman. We should not criticize or make comments about Ratzinger being part of the Hitler Youth.

DUmmies, seriously now, the man was 9 when Hitler took power in Germany and 12 when Poland was invaded. Most of you still live in your parent's basement at 28! He was detained in a POW camp, most of you can't go potty without someone holding your hand.

And how many of you belong to Hitler Youth or The Gay, Anti-American, Transgendered, Socialist, pro-choice, anti-gun, Constitution hating, Stalinist, Bush did it, tin foil hat wearing, Irreligious, Marxists of the People's Republic of F***ed-up-istan? That's the GAATGSPCAGCHSBDITFHWIMOTPROF for short.

You might also say that Bishop McCarrick flat-out lied to the American bishops about the church's position. If that is true, IMHO one of Pope Benedict's first acts should be to assign Bishop McCarrick to parking lot attendant at a church in Nome Alaska.

Man, I can hardly believe my eyes.

My "stock" in the DUmmie "William Pitt" just went up.

He's "tired of this stuff" comparing the new Pope with Hitler.

He thinks it's insulting to believers.

The DUmmie "William Pitt," saying this, on the thread you pointed out (finlandman).

Well, I have to say my opinion of the DUmmie "William Pitt" has altered somewhat.....although he still has some distance to go, to make up for his ignorance of history.

If the DUmmie "William Pitt" can show some shining moments of illumination, what next? The DUmmie "Faye" dropping her excess weight by learning to direct her anger into the proper channels instead of at George Bush?

Wonders never cease. Really, anything is possible.

What profanity? I edit out the F-word but it did slip in a couple of times. Not in this thread, however.

Actually, P.J. does a damned fine job of editing out the profanity; if you've ever been over into that intestinally-processed food, you would be aware of how P.J. REALLY cleans up the language.

I am no fan of crummy language--for religious, cultural, personal, economic, philosophical, historical, psychological, sociological, financial, aesthetic, &c., &c., &c., reasons (there are all sorts of reasons to refrain from crummy language; take your choice)--but it seems to me okay for P.J. to once in a while let one or two "bad words" slip through, so as to give a slight hint of the real taste and odor of DUmmieland.
