I do think that the feds are working on this, and the super in Arizona said on c-span that he thinks they are almost there. It has always looked to me like a very complicated set of problems that require multiple initiatives.

Are you talking about Michael Nicely, the commander of the Tucson sector of the Border Patrol?
He told a Sierra Vista town hall meeting in February that he was a loooong way from gaining operational control of the border. That was just 3 short months ago. I wonder what changed his mind?
Do you suppose a motley crue of older tax-payers sitting in lawn chairs showing the commander how his employers expected him to do the job they were paying him to do made a difference in his attitude?
Or is he just a slick-meister, telling folks what he thinks they want to hear?
