The Ghost of Social Security Future (The Leftist Perspective...Using Jesus)
email | 06.22.05 | National Council of Churches NCC

Greetings from Faithful America:

As a person of faith, please step up and help us make sure our elected officials keep their covenant with the American people on Social Security. Like you, we think it's more than a matter of economics. It's a matter of keeping faith with every man, woman, and child in America.

In case you don't know who we are, FaithfulAmerica is an online community of folks (more than 100,000 strong) who believe our faith - however expressed - has a word to say about political things. Through our website ( and e-mail we make taking action as easy as tapping your mouse. This e-mail to you is a one-time invitation to check us out and, if you like what we stand for, join us and USE us to lift your voice for things that matter - like Social Security!

Now, even a shrewd businessman like old Scrooge couldn't imagine what may happen to Social Security under the Bush administration's privatization scheme. So we thought we'd take him - and YOU - on a little journey to the future.

Why are we part of this effort? Because Social Security is a covenant, and we believe covenants can be sacred. The consequences of privatization could adversely affect millions of people, and we believe that is simply unacceptable. Privatization of Social Security would mount a $2 trillion debt in the first 10 years, $6 trillion after 20 years, and $15 trillion over the next 40 years. That would surely result in cuts in critical programs for children, the elderly and those without insurance.

Finally, a little known feature referred to as "clawback" would simply... well, watch the video and you'll see.

The numbers are complex, but here's the bottom line - Do the decision makers in Washington empower us or impoverish us? Do their policies reflect the highest of who we are, or do they punish those most in need? These are spiritual matters - moral issues - and that is why we need you to speak up! Together let's preserve the covenant. Because without Social Security, more than 50 percent of women and 40 percent of men over the age of 65 would be living in poverty. Today, Social Security survivor benefits provide support for 4.5 million children. Privatization is the surest way to destroy Social Security. Speaking up is the surest way to preserve it!

Watch the program - then take action! Click here to skip the movie and take action now!

Blessings to you for all you do on behalf of others,

Vince Isner and Your Team

Uh, there is no "covenant" in Social Security because its very basis is against trusting God to be YOUR SECURITY, NOT MAN. Hello?

Ah, this is from the NCC. The NCC is more of a Marxist organisation that twists scripture to support socialism.

Email from site:

Me:I do already. All practicing Christians depend on God for sustanance. Is there Christianity in the National Council of Churches? If there are Christians, why are they supporting something so against the Christian faith as leftist social policy?

Them: If MR Bush gets his way, then you may get to depend wholly upon God for your groceries. Thanks for your comment.

Me: original email: One's faith is not in Social Security, but in God. Social Security is not a covenent; Following the Scriptures is. It is interesting that the Covenent Churches: Amish, Mennonite, Bretherern reject Social Security.
