- Please explain to former U.S. Senator Al DAmato (R-NY) that he was unelectable and should have stepped aside for electable RINO Jacob Javits. You also might want to explain this concept to former U.S. Senator James Buckley (R-NY)
- An alleged mob lawyer husband is the EXACT reason why Pirro s attempts to go after the criminal Clinton corruption will backfire as the media skews her own family scandals. Cox and Spencer look like saints in comparison.
- Pirro, as Westchester County District Attorney who has NEVER been involved in campaigns before, is MUCH better suited to run for the OPEN seat of Attorney General of New York (where the NY GOP desperately NEEDS a credible candidate), than try to seek the U.S. Senate as an entry level position. Cox and Spencer are far more familiar with politics being a bloodsport.
- The idea that Jeanine Pirro is a household name in NY with star power is pretty silly. Far more people have heard of Richard Nixons son in law than a district attorney from Westchester. And the fact that Mayor John Spencer, a conservative Republican, is venerated in the largely Democrat suburban area of Yonkers, gives him far more star power than Hillary. As a beloved Mayor and decorated Vietnam War vet, he is the very much the suburban version of the Rudy and the kind of saavy pit bull who can put the Clintons in their place on the campaign trail.
As I posted elsewhere to Doug from Upland: Because Jeanine's championing of the abused woman approaches iconic status, she doesn't have to mention the clinton rapes explicitly. Her mere presence reminds the voter. And voters ignorant of the facts will surely be filled in by Jeanine's surrogates, the new media and the clintons' many victims. Principled feminists will take note and not find it difficult at all to vote for Jeanine. That said, I don't know Spencer, but as I recall, Cox is similarly connected to scandal by way of marriage. As for their relative star power, Jeanine is a fixture on cable, telegenic, eloquent, fast on her feet; which count for more than Cox's 40-year-old, 15-minutes-of-fame marriage to a president reviled by many voters. As for your d'amato et al. analogy, it doesn't apply. The times are different, the demographics are different, and, most important, the goal is different. You can't separate the argument from the goal. And as for your "if not Rudy then not RINO" argument: If it is not silly, it is certainly circular. And by the way, I would not classify Jeanine Pirro as a RINO. She lacks the necessary characteristic of the RINO species--the wimp gene located on the opportunism chromosome. Indeed, Pirro does stand up for arguably the most critical GOP value of our time. She is tough on crime, tough on national security... as opposed to the clintons.... hillary talks:ON TERROR (viewing movie requires Flash Player 7, available HERE) |
