No one I know has any pre-conceived notions, or even hopes, on how this will come out.

No one I know on this side of the issue has made up his mind, and is looking for "evidence" to support that premature conclusion.

We're not DUmmies, after all.

Everyone I know is just watching--no conclusions, no pre-suppositions, no hoped-for scenarios--with incredulous astonishment at how all this is playing out, with absolutely no idea how it will end.

I can't convey how incredulous I am right now. From what I've read on some of these threads, people have done exactly what you say they haven't. I didn't take down their names to see if they're nubees beating a horse or people that have been here for a long time.

Asking to basically see proof of a burial, obituary or death certificate is NOT implying anything?

I'm reading that thread right now. I thought it was Bev Harris who caused all the hoopla?

No, c'mon now, you want to see the service announcement because you think he faked his death, correct?

I find it peculiar that there has been no obituary. Many things surrounding this situation have piqued my curiosity. An obituary would put some finality on this aspect of the situation. A similarly-curious reporter may even be able to get to the bottom of the other open issues.

After more than two months, to simply have closure one way or another would be great.

Let's look at that. I only see two scenarios, doesn't mean there aren't hundreds, these two are what jumped out at me.

1) It was all a scam and now Andy is living high on the hog on his own island. Well I sure hope he raised more than 50k for that to even work.

We have no idea how much was raised. That's part of the open issues. But I don't think it's so much a matter of living high off the hog as it is the exploitation of one's circumstances to make political points.

Plus look at his personality. He's an extreme extrovert, he likes to be in the middle of things. I'm not saying it as a bad thing, it's just that he wants to be part of something and to belong, I don't see him hiding out on his island with an infinite amount of money. Imagine Pitt being unable to foist his screeds on us, it'd kill him.

It may seem otherwise, but Andy Stephenson is pretty much a nobody. He could easily find another world in which to immerse himself and get attention.

2) Now this makes a little sense. They deliberately faked his death to stop all the personal attacks so they could concentrate on his cancer and also to fool the people they accuse of attacking him. I kind of hope this is true but I'm afraid, he is dead, brought down by a nasty infection his body and modern drugs couldn't handle.

This, if true, would certainly be the most noble of the frauds committed. I, too, would rather this be true than know a man has died.

Bottom line is that I believe Andy had some type of real medical problem and his supporters used this fact to make political hay and stretched the facts in order to finance whatever procedure he wanted from JH. I would love for this to just be a stupid game of "gotcha." But I think the truth is that the three questions are unanswerable without incrimination. Or at least the admission of unethical behavior.

Ahh. Thank you. I was around then, but I couldn't afford a computer . . . starving college student and all.
