Horsefeathers has refrained from commenting on Cindy Sheehan on grounds that psychopathology is best dealt with in the privacy of the consultation room, and that deranged individuals should be quietly led to treatment, not encouraged to dramatize their delusional ideas for the evening newscast. One doesn’t require the 70+ years of combined clinical experience we possess to note the detachment from reality this woman exhibits. Her obvious rage at her son, her trashing of his life, her paranoid fantasies about the 'neocons' and Israel, her Bush hatred, her self inflation, her weird affect, the strange smile as she articulates barnyard epithets---all these should make clear to even the dumbest journalist that she is in need of psychotherapy, not publicity. Yet this remains unmentioned by her supporters in the media. The elephant in the room, overlooked by her activist friends, is that Cindy Sheehan is deranged. Why no mention? It is quite unconscionable that bored and lazy Bush hating reporters, have promoted Sheehan's story as one of a contemporary moral exemplar, a Mother Courage, the perfect representative of our therapeutic culture. Cindy Sheehan suffers, she's a victim, her son was snatched from her by the big bad government, and this loss, according to Maureen Dowd, gives her ravings unchallengable moral authority.

Very interesting. I liked this a lot and it actually makes a heck of a lot more sense than the left could ever make. What the loony liberal left sees as "repressive normality" imposed on these poor victims of society, we conservatives tend to see (and accept) as "responsibility". Like I posted on another thread, liberals are no more than emotionally retarded, mental midgets.

When I was a leftist antinuclear freak in the mid 70's I remember the Baader-Meinhof being portrayed as a heroic organization of concerned peoples fighting for justice for the average man.

I am embarrassed about the way I used to see the world then, but proud to have the courage to admit that I was wrong now.

The left is dying off globally because it is dysfunctional. Sadly it (the left) is going to be replaced as the driving force of tyrannical potential by the islamists. The left in the western world never had the ability to keep the average person stupid enough to accept their ideology, what remains of them must ally with Islam.

The drivers of the left are clever and devious, as are those driving islamist fascism. Unfortunately for them both they lead an army of retards and people who lack the intellectual capacity to see that they are following a philosophy that is death centered. Lemmings do not an army make.

Those people, along with some organized American leftist radicals were the real deal, todays leftists are a bunch of pussies.

The western leftists of today are pampered miseducated children of the upper middle classes, they are more dangerous to themselves than others, mostly via overdose or institutionalization for various manifestations of neurosis.

Those who are on the top of this heap, the true Stalinist Marxists are allying with the islamists, as they have no other ally on the planet that is viable. To truly understand the mindset of these people I recommend reading James Mitchner's "Kent State".

It may be thirty years later, but the players are still out there, and their ideology and goals remain pure. The only thing that has changed are those they seek alliance with.

I agree, the left and the Islamists have become allies. I think it's more than just because there's no one else the leftists can ally with, but they also share the same utopian loathing for reality, the same urge for revenge against the world for not submitting to them.
