On May 20, 2005, comedian Lizz Winstead filed suit in New York, detailing a laundry list of allegations against Air America Radio parent Piquant LLC.

Accusing the company of failing to pay wages, promotional fees, accrued holiday compensation and severance, Winstead is seeking $290,716, plus interest.

You can download her entire complaint here.

Does the company's behavior toward her help to demonstrate a pattern of ethics and integrity lapses in its overall business dealings?

No. They're liberals. By definition, they have no integrity to lapse, to ethics to breach.

From a business owners perspective this really is unbelievable.

First off -they start a network so they can " get their message out"..which is a ruse because they already have the MSM barking their talking points and it is not working Air Amerika is just rehashing what we see on ABC, NBC, CNN, etc...so where is the market that is not being served? Who wrote this business plan?

Secondly- Looking at the wages they were paying everyone is unbelievable! Only a couple of them had proven success in radio...but Franken ( his show is terrible) is promised $1 million? How did they determine market value? Now this lady gets a cool 1/2 million? So where are her #'s to prove that kind of compensation? And now she is suing because she only got half of what she was promised? Shouldn't rating decide what she gets? Very bad business decision again by Air Amerika..locking in wages that can't be justified and then trying to " write them off" is just unbelievable.

Overall it looks like a bunch of money-grubbing self serving idiots who have this idea they are above it all.
And when confronted with the bad business decisions they " reorganize" to obsolve the debts. Further proving they don't have any idea what they are doing...and the end justifies the means.

So remember...if Air Amerika has to steal money, not pay debts or employees and make a scam company sale to hide behind...it's okay because they need to get their message out and that is more important than if they used legitimate ways to do so.

yup , ya nailed it , but may I point out[although we know] it was during a Presidential Election Campaign , this was hastily cobbled together so they could scream lies in FULL LIAR MODE over the airwaves, unfettered!! "hey Spitzer , c'mon, we can smell yer political aspirations going up in smoke,or is everyone in yer office on vacation?"

After May 24th, 2004, Winstead believed her previous employment terms remained, with an annual management salary of $250,000, plus ... an AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) union-designated scale wage for her on-air duties ($225,000), less $50,000, for reasons not disclosed in her complaint.

Later, Key is her contention that wages weren't reported to AFTRA, a likely indication remaining pay corresponded to her administrative duties.

Amazing how much liberals respect unions.

I found this little tidbit interesting on the radio-equalizers web site

"From Anshell to Progress Media and Piquant LLC, the Drobnys seem to be no strangers to shifting assets and allegedly walking away from large debts, when needed"

I knew there was a culture here of self-importance and the position that what you espouse is better than what you do.

If anyone actually listens ( agonizingly so) to a couple hours of programming...have you noticed all the public service announcements and the ads from charities. Is that who is paying the bills? I think we need to research their revenue streams....we might find alot of charities footing the bill. Even Cohen is just the straw man that is taking the fall for an inherent group of corrupt of people.

Ditto. They lay the whole blame on a couple of people who are no longer at AA. Franken and all claim they found out when we did and were just as shocked. BS. I think they don't care too much about going after Cohen because he will take some of them down with him.

Now check out this statement in April 2004...a month before Cohen's ousting. Also notice how Cohen is a saint! And million dollars....awe peahsaw!!! we can handle a mil no problem.

"Normally we’d let this go because “habitual liars” like Drudge are laughable, and ridicule is our business.

But Arthur Liu --- not funny. He lied to us, he ripped us off and now we’re chasing him down with a pipe wrench. It’s a metaphor.

Here’s what really happened:

This Liu-ser was ripping off our boss Evan Cohen big time (he can’t do that, that’s our job). Evan found out about it and he stopped payment on a check to keep Liu-cifer from ripping him off even more. You can touch Evan for the occasional meal or drinks but a million bucks is crossing the line. And if we ever get low on cash, we can always call Barbra Streisand. Or any of the
Baldwins. Except Stephen"

I am in awe....you can check this out at
