Translation: It doesn't matter if the typeface alone proves that the document must be a forgery. After all, it's the seriousness of the charge that matters! The document may be a forgery, but the contents are still valid!

He thought that this basic misunderstanding of how documents changed through electronic transmittal was behind the unfounded certainty and ferocity of the attack on the documents.

Oh, wow...why didn't we see that before??? It was the scanning, faxing, and photocopying that "subtly altered" those documents and CREATED the superscripts that didn't exist in the 70's! How could we have been so wrong?
