SAVAGE SIDEKICKS?- Michael's Contest, Rhodes vs. Parshall, Kagan Aftermath
The Radio Equalizer- Brian Maloney ^ | October 10th, 2005 | Brian Maloney

In one of talk radio's oddest recent moves, the syndicated "Savage Nation" host has made a public call for several new "sidekicks" and even a possible co-host.

What in the world would possess Savage to do this, the Radio Equalizer can't imagine.

From Savage's Paul Revere Society website:........

(snip)

......As part of its "C-SPAN 25 Years- Viewer Call-ins" series, Air America's Randi Rhodes was teamed up with Salem's Janet Parshall to debate talk radio's influence. Airing Saturday afternoon, it was initially tame. Parshall made a few basic points, while Rhodes had great difficulty getting into the conversation's flow.

In terms of content, there wasn't much, at first. Rhodes did her best Courtney Love impression, while Parshall attempted to answer questions about talk radio's audience, influence and reach.....

I don't know about the sabbatical. Michael is different in person than his stage personnae. He's actually a very gentle man. A co-host might be the ticket he needs, IMHO.

Have seen Jane Parshall show. I am rather impressed by her knowledge and equinimity. She just doesn't ruffle easily.

I think Phil Hendrie would be an excellent side kick for Mr. Savage

I've heard Phil Hendrie too. I think your suggestion is quite sensible. Both are men's/father's rights knowledgeable, both love this country -- but in the fine details, often, concerning politics -- they could put on one heck of a show debating differences. Yes. This could be a good match, drawing in listeners from a lot of "lurking" quarters.

Why would Hendrie stoop to that? Hendrie actually still has talent.

No, the perfect sidekick for Savage is Randi Rhodes. She's as big a loon as he is, and to have both of them talking over each other would be a kick to hear.

I wonder which one of them would get to control the "kill" button?

Michael Weiner-Savage is a San Francisco homosexual, leftist, fraud (I'd better watch out, he may threaten to SUE!). If you think he "rocks!", then you haven't been listening very closely. Here's his schtick: Criticize Bush, surf the Arts & Culture Blogs to sound like an intellectual, Criticize Rush, boo hoo about the demise of his anklebiting dog Freddy (or some equally gay sounding dog name), Criticize Hannity, Call medical professionals 'Dr Mengele', Boost alternative 'medicine', Criticize O'Reilly, blab away about his evening strolls through the Castro District, Criticize Ann Coulter, etc...

Michael Weiner-Savage is a Leftist plant and you are falling for it. Red diaper doper baby. What a clown.

I would second that idea, but not go so far. Matt Drudge was right on his radio show calling Savage's persona an act. It's all an act. After listening to him since he was local here in the Bay Area since 1998, the act has now gotten old and predicable. Then again, if I had to read Drudge's site everyday to get my ideas for a radio show (and claim them for my own), I'd probably act the same way.
