Reports claim Djukanovic wanted in Italy
PODGORICA -- Media in Podgorica reported yesterday that an Italian prosecutor has requested the arrest of Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic as part of an investigation into cigarette smuggling.
According to Italian news agency ANSA, the judge conducting the prelimiary investigation dismissed the request on the grounds that Djukanovic is immune from prosecution under international law.
The prosecutor is said to have found evidence that Djukanovic had been receiving money from the "Camora" crime gang for the transportation of contraband cigarettes through Montenegro.
