Left-Wing Methodist Pastors Perform Exorcism Outside White House
Democracy Cell Project | 1/7/06 | Dick Bell, KarenBradley

They're getting stranger and stranger, folks. The moonbats believe they've surrounded the White House like the way Joshua and the Israelites fit the battle of Jericho:

FIT THE BATTLE...

A cold morning in Lafayette Park, the White House glistening in the bright morning sun. Four mounted park police stand in formation opposite the White House fence, while another policewoman plays a rough game wrestling with a K-9 dog over a foot-long orange plastic attack-dog toy.

I’m here to watch a small group of United Methodist pastors who’ve come together to conduct a “Ritual of Social Exorcism” service to rid the White House of the demons that George Bush and his cronies have unleashed: deception, white male ego, greed, arrogance, fear, hubris, hegemony, and ignorance. (That’s a good list, although I’m sure every one of us could add a couple more; casting out these devils would be a great start.)

The police mostly kept their distance, except for one who felt compelled to come over and ask three of us to step off the 6 inches of the sidewalk we were occupying into the street, and a somewhat breathless bicycle officer who whirled up demanding to know whether two bags full of leaflets belonged to those of us standing four feet away.

The pastors invoked several passages from the Bible, including Luke 21:15, Ephesians 6: 10-17, Colossians 1:15-16, and I John 4:1-4. The 5 pastors alternated ordering the “ungodly spirits to depart.”

“Spirit of (name of devil), in the name and power of Jesus Christ we order you to depart from the Bush administration and surrender before God.”

As I looked up over the quietly praying pastors, I saw a small hawk, my totem animal, make two quick passes over the park.

And while I don’t see it on the video we made, when I turned back to the White House, I swear I saw a slight shimmering over the White House chimneys, blurring the outlines of the sharpshooters on the roof with a bead on us.

Pssst! Be careful, moonbat. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob doesn't think too much of your "totem animal." Mock Him at your peril.

Sounds like the people performing this "exorcism" should be taken immediatly to the nearest psych ward for observation.

Well, in the true progressive tradition [similar cures similar], the slogan should be "exorcise the exorcists!". I'd say that a good enema (0.5 gal size) of soap and holy water, to be administered every 30 minutes, would rapidly purge them of any unclean spirit. Why, it could amount to a canonical purgation.

So, were they successful in driving the evil out of themselves and their fellow travellers?

I forgot to add that this type of thing is just one of the reasons why I'm no longer a Methodist.

As though anyone with a synapse would waste ammo on the likes of you.

Now it's our turn:

It's, literally, a damned shame. My granddad was a minister in the Methodist Church's Indian Missionary. I grew up in that church. I don't know how much of their Christian values they've managed to hold on to with the main church heading in its current direction. I do know that a couple of years ago near Easter, I wandered over to the Methodist web site. They were reminding everyone that Earth Day was coming up. No Easter reminder on their opening page.

My great grandfather was a circuit rider. I left when they were collecting funds to build field hospitals for the viet cong.

They've grabbed a page out of Norman Mailor's "Armies of the Night". 1967, a so-called peace march. Read the book years ago. Communists (Modern translation: liberals) surrounded the Pentagon, held hands, and attempted a stunt similar to what these so-called "Methodist" pastors have done. So, hmmm... allegedly the protest in 1967 was to "stop the war machine".

Lyndon B Johnson was President in 1967. Link to his state of the Union Address in 1967.

What a CONTRAST to President Bush's 2005 State of the Union Address.

I left the Methodists around 1991 for theological reasons (I wasn't tuned into politics too much at the time). I'm now with the conservative Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). I'm thankful God was patient with me....

Heh heh heh... now they're going to go dance nekkid under the full moon in hopes of bringing Clinton back to power... or at least getting him to drop by and party with them...

The Methodist faith appears to have become social and political activism. It really is true--you can't serve two masters, God and Mammon. So these Methodists have cast their lot with Mammon.

I'm surprised the ACLU weren't complaining about religious interference in government. Oh, wait, no I'm not.

Let me guess: After they exorcised the White House, they adjourned to the nearby Planned Parenthood clinic for donuts and coffee?

There are millions of stories among the ranks of ex United Methodists. Every year the Council of Bishops fund a survey to determine the reason that United Methodists are leaving the churches in droves. Every year the results are the same: the United Methodist church has forsaken its Christian heritage. Every year the Bishops dismiss these findings and search for new and better ways to separate themselves and their followers from the love of God.

When it was over, did they all shake their heads and say, "Hello, who are you, where am I, what am I doing here?"

I still am a United Methodist (ONLY because I know this is where the Lord wants me) and I want to know the names of these four nutcases.

FYI, all, the Confessing Movement within the United Methodist Church and Good News Magazine are making great progress to return the denomination to its scriptural and Wesleyan roots.

I sincerely hope so and I pray your efforts from within the UMC will bear fruit. With a young child (now 17-years old), we had to leave in order to preserve a Biblical church influence for her. The congregation we left is shrinking more and more each year and, as you said above, they just don't know why.

According to the most recent book on "Hillary!"... she got her socialist origins at a Methodist "love-in" group.
