Thanks for the ping. I had the opportunity to read the article last night, before the ping.

Lindh should be tried for treason and executed.

support Lindh Sr’s naïve view of his son and his actions

Lindh Sr isn't naïve. He's an America hater and a source of Jr's America hatred.

Johnny Spann stood in gently falling snow and wistfully recalled the day his son, CIA officer Johnny Micheal "Mike" Spann, lingered among the tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery, studying each inscription and testing his sister Tanya's patience. "Mike, let's go," she implored. "They're all the same." "No, Tanya, they're not," the younger Spann replied. "There are stories behind them." It is Mike Spann's story that draws Johnny Spann to Arlington now.

There is no greater objective for the grieving father these days than gathering the facts behind the uprising on Nov. 25, 2001, at the makeshift prison in Afghanistan where his son became the first American casualty of the Afghan war.

I wish Mr. Pelton had reported this in November 2001 – on CNN.

What was this?

Mr. Pelton gave him tea and cookies. The US Marines gave him MREs – the horror!

If this man had done his duty and testified against Lindh, there wouldn't be any confusion at all about what he was. To hell with 'inconvenience', what about JUSTICE?

Patty, thanks for the ping.

Very interesting story. Much more to "Johnny Jihad" than a trial would have ever brought out!
