"Raise crows and they will peck your eyes out" (“Cria cuervos y te sacaran los ojos”)

An old Spanish proverb….which depicts the situation we have today thanks to an overtly passive society except for, thank God, President Bush. Angela Merkel, rightly so, is now being hailed as a champion by many in the European Press for comparing Iran’s President to Hitler and warning that the west must take note of this lunatic’s assertions in order that the sins of the past are not repeated.. It is ironical that today every paper is celebrating the great international consensus there is between France-Russia-Germany in that they all agree, if need be, to deliver a nuclear solution to wipe out President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s pretensions.

Could it be that Ahmadinejad’s and the fanatics' delusions, were caused by some of the same press, if not directly, that now is defending its “freedom"?. Had some journalists been less consumed by hatred, in their vicious attacks, slanting and distorting of factual information, to discredit President Bush, and in showing photographs of flag burnings and posters calling for jihads against America, to support their anti-war stance, maybe these monsters today would not be desecrating that western inalienable right of free speech.

If it were not for a few principled men who stood tall against the face of evil and called it like it is, we would be facing today a worst scenario. Next to President Ahmadinejad would be the other wannabe terminator, Saddam Hussein.

This is not a war of tendencies, left or right. This is a war between civilized societies and those that want to destroy it at all costs claiming to get even after 600-800 years with the perverse intention to annihilate everything that their societies never accomplished.

Maybe now with this cartoon incident is the West, as a whole, finally waking up to the realization that those judeo-christian values- the essence behind our “human rights”- should be hailed and protected against all odds.

Sadly, we have nests of carefully tended crows in all Western nations, including the US. And they're not just mad about something 600-800 years ago; Islam has been violent since its very beginnings, which would be about 1300 years ago. It just took it awhile to bring that violence out of the ME and into Europe.

Yes, you are absolutely right...but some in the press in the past two years would use many of those same-type images (those flag burnings etc)to support their anti war stance.
MHO.

Draw a cartoon of their cult founder and they burn down their own cities. Once iran builds the nukes they will arm every other islamic country, and who will then dare draw cartoons (ie accurate portraits) of the "prophet" ?

If we have to take military action we have to do it soon. I don't see anything else working. We spend so many billions of dollars and sacrifice so many lives to make sure Iraq doesn't or didn't have any. But if next door iRan acquires them after all this then everything would have happened in vain.

Nothing is in vain. Imagine if we had not gone against Iraq...we would have to face Iran+one...So, we should applaud the leaders who took a stance then (Blair, Bush) and hold responsible (some of the press and others... who negated the obvious and provoked the agrandisement of these monsters-fanatics-etc

Either you have a WMD free zone or you do not. In the end a success in iraq alone is not a success if iran acquires wmds.
