Vetting nominees is her job.

has allegedly vetoed several recommendations offered by conservatives to fill vacancies on federal courts. Anybody who believes the above could be sold the Brooklyn Bridge in a heart beat.

She did such a good job on herself, it's no wonder Bush has kept her on the payroll. He's loyal to old family friends and cronies like Harriet.

As it is we still haven't seen any cases to get a good read of how the new justices will behave.

Yeah, she put forth Roberts.
Lousy pick, eh?

You can believe anything you wish. It's not my story. I'm just passing along some news items.

Fortunately, she was withdrawn (er...stepped aside) making it possible to have Roberts instead of her.
More from the story:
One conservative leader on the call said the only way for the White House to offer a real new beginning on judicial nominees was to bring in a new counsel in place of Miers. She was rumored to be on the way out after new Chief of Staff Josh Bolten took charge last month, but nothing has materialized since then.

Guess we'd better just go ahead and impeach Roberts and Alito then. Miers helped pick them.

Harriet Miers suggested Roberts before that as SC Chief. Pretty bad choice, eh?
To: CFC__VRWC
I'm sure she deserves all the credit, especially since she finally stepped aside so we could have Roberts instead.

Did she refer to Miers as a "cleaning lady" again?
Some of these conservatives ought to keep their mouths shut, especially on judicial nominees.
They can't accept that they ran Miers off; they've got to continue to attack her.
Jerks.

Meiers really messed up the vetting process with Alito and Roberts.
How dare she!!!!
We really needed another Souter.

Hey Sink, don't you have a bull riding contest to call over in Beaumont? It's always so nice to hear from you. I value your pithy comments as always.

To: Cautor
Nope, it was Alito who replaced Meiers.

Thank God she was run off. What a pitiful nominee for the U.S. Supreme court she was.
As Limbaugh said today, the President isn't a conservative he is a politician. He proves it every day with stunts like the Harriet Miers nomination.
