It has been a long time coming, but I'm back in the fight. This time
wielding a book!
WARLORD: No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy
An unapologetic story of honor, courage and commitment on the
battlefield and in the courtroom. Warlord is in stores now and it
couldn't have come at a better time for America.
Isn't it Ironic that a year after battling for my life and my honor I
am the unique position of defending the very Corps that I still love
from those that would tarnish her 230 years of heroic sacrifices?
The following is a transcript from Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN (5/30)
where Mr. Murtha has alleged a cover-up all the way to Joint Chiefs:
COOPER: There have been those who said you are politicizing this.
You're jumping to judgment. The investigation's still going on.
A man by the name of Ilario Pantano, a Marine who was accused with two
counts of premeditated murder, charges which were later dropped, he
wrote a letter to "The Washington Post." And he said this -- quote --
"Not only is he" -- meaning you, Mr. Murtha -- "certain of the Marines'
guilt, but he claims to know the cause, which he conveniently
attributes to a policy he opposes. Let the courts decide if these
Marines are guilty. They haven't even been charged with a crime yet, so
it is premature to presume their guilt, unless that presumption is tied
to a political motive."
MURTHA: Well, let me tell you something. They're trying to kill the
messenger.
Monday I will be on the TODAY show (NBC,8am) as well as Hannity &
Colmes (FOX,9pm) followed by Anderson Cooper 360 (CNN,10pm) with
additional appearances throughout the week.
Thank you for your support through thick and thin!

Thanks for the ping.

Jack Muthra was a Marine long enough to know that if the Marines really wanted to "kill the messenger" he wouldn't even get the chance to spout off.
Pretty hefty price, the soul. What'd he trade it for?
He was indeed a Marine long enough to know he would be reviled by the Corps. What would be temptation enough to sell the soul? Nothing on the spur of the moment, that's for sure. This was a long time coming. He's been a dirty marine for a long time...to the point that being a Marine means nothing to him but something to use for profit. This is a deliberate, pre-meditated frag by a bastard to cover his ass AND get more. Except now he's in debt for his soul up to his ears and is using our boys to pay that debt.
Over my dead body.
Everytime I write what I really think and feel about Murtha, I must press the delete key.
There are quite a few non-posts floating around out in cyberspace ; )
I've got to hit the hay. A few good men whooped my butt this weekend : )
Hang in there. Sleep well.
Thanks for the ping.

Fabulous! I'll buy the book to support him.
Is this guy a conservative?
I am still waiting for an unapologetic book in support of the Global War on Terror. Everything is anti-war or lukewarm.
I don't know what Lt. Pantano's politics are. If I were him, I would probably be apolitical, in the extreme. I will buy his book, for the sole purpose of supporting him.
Did you read "American Soldier" by General Tommy Franks?
"But it has not made as much of a media splash as some other accounts of the administration, because it is not hostile to George W. Bush."

I see Lt. Pantano has the same ghost writer as Gen. Franks.
: )
I caught the H&C segment. You did an outstanding job!
Semper fi!
Now I'm in a quandry. I just posted that from his announcement and should have done a better job! If I ever run into him, though, I'll tell him you said so!! What'd he say? I don't have cable : (
I'm sorry...For some reason I thought you were Pantano.
(Insert red-faced smilie here)
No, it was my fault, not yours. He did well?????!!!!!!
Here are two Pantano interviews, hat tip to Blackfive. The first interview is conducted by Kit Jarrel, who was critical in the defense effort behind Pantano.

Pantano was just on Hannity & Colmes
Thanks. Will read two references.
He did great. He very calmly disassembled Murtha, defended the Haditha Marines and discussed his own case in a very calm but firm way. He is a credit to the Corps and to America.
Glad to hear it!
I posted those links on the other thread..
You know, they say everything happens for a reason, this is a big enough reason for what happened to Pantano to come full circle that he can help. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
We can all be thankful for conservative talk radio, the Internet, FR, Washington Times and Fox News because the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Marines are getting a fairer shake than those of us who served during the Viet Nam war.
And when the investigation has been completed and the facts are known, I fully expect the Haditha Marines to be exonerated.
